Do you already know how to Double Crochet, Slip Stitch, and Chain? Do you want to learn how to crochet beautiful butterflies? Then you should register for the second Nature Crochet Class at the Silver Lake Nature Center!❤🌎🦋

You do not need to have attended the first Nature Crochet Class in order to register for the second. The only requirement for attending this class is a basic knowledge of the Double Crochet, Slip Stitch, and Chain. We will learn how to make and use the Magic Ring and we will create colorful butterflies.

Pre-registration is required. Price is $15/Person for Nonmembers or $10/Person for Members of the Friends of SLNC.

Hi Friends,
It is with very heavy hearts that we share the news that our beloved “Riley the Red-bellied Turtle” recently passed away.

Riley was a treasured member of the “SLNC family” for many years, living a long and full life (that exceeded her expected lifespan). For approximately 30+ years, she served as an incredible Animal Ambassador, helping to inspire and connect countless Visitors to the natural world through her beautiful, gentle presence in the SLNC Visitors' Center.

Generations of children, families, volunteers, and staff had come to know and love Riley. She touched the lives of so many and is deeply missed.

We are so grateful for the many years we had with Riley, and for her many years of service.

Summer Camp Staff Training/Prep Week wrapped up on Friday (6/12) so we are now all set for the first day of Summer Camp (on 6/15)!!❤️🌎

We are SO grateful for our amazing Summer Camp Team with: Camp Director- Ms. Holly; Camp Counselors- Mr. Anthony, Ms. Dema, Ms. Gabrielle, Mr. Jacob, Ms. Liliana, Ms. Lizzie; Kayak Instructor- Ms. Melanie; Lunch Program Assistants/Extraordinaires- Ms. SueD & Ms. SueK; and our awesome Team of “Counselors-In-Training” (CIT’s)- Teen Volunteers who will be helping throughout the summer!

Thank you also to Bristol Township Fire Rescue for the excellent First Aid Training for our Team!

We are looking forward to another incredibly awesome Summer Camp Season!! ❤️🌎

Reminder: the SLNC Native Plant Sale Part 2 is coming up on Saturday, June 13th, starting at 10am ~ and we are all set with 15+ varieties at just $5/plant!! ❤🌎

Seeds for this very special Native Plant Sale were sown using the Winter Sowing Method taught at our class in November 2025.

Our plants have been soaking up the sunshine in the SLNC Earthship and are ready to take root in your home garden!

Not only do Native Plants support pollinators and birds, but they are also a low maintenance option with reduced watering needs and no need for fertilizers or soil amendments.

We hope you will take this opportunity to support native biodiversity and the Friends of SLNC!

100% of proceeds benefit the nonprofit Friends of SLNC organization.
