And we’re off! After two lovely weekends of dinners at the farm we are headed toward beautiful La Crosse, Wisconsin to visit family! It’s a 3 day trek in the Rv to get there but we get to travel through the beautiful states of Tennessee and Kentucky to get there.

🍽️🌿 A Heartfelt Thank You from Fern Valley Farm 🌿🍽️

What a wonderful month of dinners at the farm! Thank you to everyone who joined us for our May Harvest Dinners. There is something truly special about gathering around a table filled with good food, sharing stories, laughter, and friendships both new and old. Watching conversations unfold, seeing familiar faces return, and welcoming new guests into the Fern Valley Farm family is what makes these evenings so meaningful to us.

We are grateful for your support, your kind words, and the joy you bring to our farm each month. From the appetizers to the final bite of Butter Pecan Praline Cake, we hope you enjoyed every moment as much as we enjoyed hosting you.

As always, Larry and I leave these weekends with full hearts and a deep appreciation for this wonderful community we’ve built together.

We look forward to seeing you again soon for our June Italian Cooking Class and our upcoming June Harvest Dinners!

Fern Valley Farm 🌶️

This one is going to be FUN.
Friday, May 15th and Saturday, May 16th
6-9 pm
$45 per person includes dinner.

We’re bringing some of our favorite bold, fresh flavors into the kitchen for an upcoming adult cooking class—and you’ll be right there with us, learning every step along the way.

We’ll make:
✨ Our homemade FVF salsa
✨ Our family guacamole recipe (a good one… we promise)
✨ Fresh, warm homemade tortillas
✨ Chicken enchiladas, built from scratch
✨ And a classic Tres Leches cake to finish it all off

These nights are always filled with laughter, a few “It’s a nugget!” moments, and a table full of new friends by the end.

We keep our classes small on purpose—so everyone gets the experience, not just a seat.

Grab your spot, bring a friend, and come spend the evening with us.

We survived!!! Coming back from the Shetland Islands we decided to take a little adventure detour and take the 12 hour overnight ferry back to the mainland of Scotland. The ferry floats for 12 hours across the sea from Lerwick to Aberdeen and is H U G E! It carries cars and offers 2-4 bunk bed rooms for the overnight float. Complete with VIP lounges, a restaurant , movie cinema, and lots of seats for singles to make the trek, it’s more like a small cruise liner. We got VIP treatment and were wheeled on in a wheelchair instead of walking the long plank to the boat. Here are a few pictures to f the inside of the boat- beautiful. I have to admit that once we underway I had to lie down in order to make it through. I guess I’ll never be a member of the navy. While there were smooth the seas, the rocking of the boat in a walking boot and cane proved too much for my stomach. We had rented a 4 bunk room, complete with bathroom and shower, so we hunkered down early. Went to bed at 9:30 pm and got the announcement at 6:30 pm that the boat had almost docked. No oversleeping here. So we loaded up our luggage, took a bus to the airport to pick up our rented car. The last picture is Larry pushing me and our bags on a baggage trolley. It was much faster than walking. Tomorrow beautiful Inverness and a chance to spot the Loch ness monster, Nessie! We miss you all but are having a wonderful time! ♥️

Shetland islands… absolutely incredible! Stunningly beautiful. We saw cliffs, beaches, 800 year old stone villages, had a fabulous time at the folk festival concerts- makes me want to learn to play the fiddle. 🎻, and just a wonderful visit to this very special place with no trees! Take a look at this video to see some great f the incredible places we went. Tomorrow we take the 12 hour overnight ferry back to the mainland! Having a wonderful time, Mrs Lynn & Farmer Larry. ♥️

SCOTLAND- Today we leave the city of Edinburgh after 2 1/2 days of fun with all the crowds to fly to the Shetland Islands where we just found out they are have a temporary WIFI outage. We have to leave the scooter behind, we’ll be hobbling with the cane across the moors. We’ll still take pictures for you but it may be a day or so before we post them. There we are hoping to see puffins, those beautiful birds, waterfalls, cliffs, folk music concerts, and lots and lots of Viking history. We might even take a boat ride to one of the outer islands. Stay tuned for more Larry & Lynn adventures. ♥️ . .

First full day in Edinburgh- made the “hike” up the hill to the Edinburgh Castle. Beautiful. Listened to bagpipes on the way down and had a wonderful Scottish dinner at Tueshers, a local neighborhood pub just down from our apartment. Delicious! Having fun in Scotland. ♥️
