Continuing with the golf theme…
Prepare for the future launch of Apex Golf Lab – a premiere, members-only indoor golf facility designed for golfers who want a better way to practice, play, and enjoy the game year-round. We recently met with the Frye family to learn about their passion for the game and their quest to bring a fun, state-of-the-art golf experience to downtown Bristol.

They are located in the former Bikers Edge space on the corner of Main and School Streets. (Also included in the pictures is the old Bristol Press space, which is currently being renovated by building owner Bob Desmarais).

Happening now on the corner of West and Haviland Streets:

Over the next several months, you will see work by Cokel Properties LLC to build 11 new market rate townhouses. Some will have garages underneath while the others will have walk out basements.

The developer is hoping to retain the existing historic wall that was part of the Brightwood estate. Following the demolition of the mansion, this site was then home to the Helming Agency and the law offices of Attorney Gary Constant.

ESPN Founder Bill Rasmussen died this week, almost 50 years after changing the Bristol landscape more than anyone could have imagined - including partnerships with the Bristol Fire Department, Bristol Connecticut Police Department, opening the campus for COVID vaccinations, employee volunteers in the community, and showcasing our Little League East Region facility.

Today, his business idea that people would watch sports "24 hours a day" comprises 6% of our Grand List, paying $7,420,927 in annual taxes from ESPN and $4,805,485 in annual taxes from Disney Streaming Technology. We are a better community because of him.

Our thoughts are with his family and the thousands of ESPN employees living their dream thanks to Bill and Scott's entrepreneurial spark of a conversation while sitting in a traffic jam.
