Foggy and moody may be the best way to view a lighthouse. Add in lupines and it just can't be beat. The one that is pink in top and gradually turns purple at the bottom is so pretty.

The Rock School House opens today for the season. Regular hours will be Wednesdays 1-5pm, and Saturdays 8am-1pm. Admission is free for everyone, including camp/ school programs.

A week ago we had a great group of students from Bristol do a field trip there to learn about the history and see how children 100 years ago attended school. Anne with Old Bristol Historical Society was the "schoolteacher" for the trip and taught the kids how lessons were done in that era. Charlie with our department was there to talk to them about the history of the school and some of the notable teachers, and will be there when during the open times. If you have a camp or group that may be interested in coming to visit, contact us and we can work to arrange it.

Please do not park on the road across from the school as that is resident access. You can park in front of the school or on the road before and after the school.

Be aware- there is fake currency being used around the area. As we hit our busy season in the area it can be hard to really notice small differences in currency. Last summer we received a prop movie $20 bill at the beach and it looked incredibly real. I only knew it was fake because my bill counter kept spitting it out. It took a little time to see the movie markings, and that was with me really looking hard at the bill because they are so realistic. If these bills this summer are like the one we got, the texture is also different. It can easily be mistaken for the feeling of a worn bill, but without the obvious wear.

I think the lupine beginning to bloom means we have made it to spring, maybe even early summer. I think we all are feeling just about done with jacket and gloves weather so the little purple lupine gives us hope for summer.

The beach will be closed today, and probably tomorrow due to the weather.

What it means- you can still go down and enjoy the beach, but the restrooms and rentals will not be open. As previously planned, we will close Tues- Fri this week then reopen Saturday for the season. It looks like it will be sunny and warm a few days this week. Even though we will not technically be open, the beach itself will be open, just without any amenities.

It's Opening Day!!! We made it through the long cold winter and today we get rewarded with a beautiful beach day, and a beautiful beach to start the holiday weekend. You need to get out today though because the way the weather looks we may not open tomorrow or Monday.

Hours today (and Sun/ Mon if we open) are 9-5. We will close Tuesday- Friday then open again next Saturday 9-5.

There are some nights where you just look up and can actually see peace. It was the calm before the storm tonight as we were prepping for the Saturday beach opening. It just felt so peaceful.
