Story featuring the Pemi Trail whose fiirst phase was mostly built by Town Highway Department staff.

Outdoor recreation remains among the healthiest activities to pursue, and one of the best offerings in the Lakes Region is the series of walking, hiking, and biking trails that are being developed alongside the lakes and rivers, many of them utilizing old railroad beds.

Please keep off the roads as much as possible. We are all working to get things back up and running. Thank you!

Please keep off the roads as much as possible. We are all working to get things back up and running. Thank you!

Many roads in town are closed due to trees and wires down. Please stay off of the roads tonight if possible, and use caution if traveling if you have to be out. There are far too many incidents to have officers posted at. Each incident has reflective cones out to warn motorists of a closed road. DO NOT attempt to drive over downed wires, don’t touch any wires on the ground, and stay away from downed trees. The power companies are doing their best to take care of the hazards and restore power. Please be patient, as this is a widespread storm affecting a large region.

The following as a list of closed roads, we will do our best to update it as the storm goes on:

Danforth Brook Rd. (OPEN)
N. Main St. Near Hobart (OPEN)
Wulamat Rd. By Bristol Shores (OPEN)
Bristol Hill Rd. at Daniels Rd. (OPEN)
Hillside Ave. (OPEN)
Castle Ln. (OPEN)
Tristin Ln. (OPEN)
Wicom Rd. (OPEN)
Upper Birch Rd. (OPEN)

Thank you! Have a safe night!!

If you have to go out, please take care on the roads. Our crew is doing the best we can.

Good Evening:

The Highway Department will begin paving tomorrow in specified neighborhoods. The paving will probably extend through the end of the week, or maybe into next week. If paving continues on Monday, I will post over the weekend. This is predicated on our New England weather.

You will not need to move your vehicles, the contractor will leave one lane open on your street.

Neighborhoods;
DeAngelo Drive
Holiday Hills
Fox Run

I apologize for the lateness in this post.

If you have any questions, please call the office at the Highway Department, 744-2441.

I have included a few recent pictures.
