Event Standby

Today members provided an event standby for the Mahogany and Steel Car and Boat show at the Bristol Wharf. We even had plenty of future firefighters stop and check out the fire apparatus that they will ride when they are old enough!

Last Friday, firefighters from the Bristol Borough Fire Association and our mutual aid partners were dispatched to a dwelling fire in Station 25’s local. The first arriving chief arrived quickly to find significant fire conditions involving the end three units and attic space of a two-story row of four dwellings. Due to the volume of fire and rapid extension, a second alarm was quickly transmitted, bringing additional resources to the scene.

The first arriving apparatus went right to work, with firefighters facing extremely heavy fire conditions and challenging building construction. Crews worked aggressively to contain the fire and protect the exposures. After approximately an hour and a half of intense operations, the fire was placed under control.

A total of 13 residents were displaced as a result of the fire. The American Red Cross has been assisting those affected.

Units operating on scene included:

BBFA: E50, E521, L25, Q51, R25
Bristol Township: R225, E10, E11, E14, L11, TW14, R13, R82, F11
Middletown Township: E9, E77, R8
Bensalem Township: E65, TW16, SQ44
Falls Township: E30, L30, L31, R32
Tullytown: L33
Morrisville: E98
Newtown: R45
Burlington City: E9031, Air Unit
Florence Township: TW4015

Mutual aid plays a critical role in incidents like this, especially considering the time of day, the type of construction, and the heavy fire conditions encountered. Every department and every firefighter on scene contributed to the successful outcome of this incident.

Thank you to all responding agencies for your assistance, professionalism, and teamwork

The Bristol Borough Fire Association was honored to attend the graduation ceremony last Monday for five of our firefighters who successfully completed the Bucks County Public Safety Training Center Firefighter I Program.

Over the course of the academy, these members dedicated countless hours to classroom instruction, hands-on training, live fire evolutions, search and rescue operations, ladders, ventilation, forcible entry, water supply, and many other critical firefighting skills. Their commitment and determination reflect the strong tradition of service and professionalism within our department.

We congratulate all of the graduates on this major accomplishment and thank their families, instructors, and fellow members who supported them throughout the program.

The future of the fire service in Bristol Borough remains strong. Congratulations, firefighters — we are proud of you all. 🚒🔥

Members of the Bristol Borough Fire Association Junior Officer Development Program completed Weeks 6 and 7 of the program this week in order to allow participants and instructors to enjoy the upcoming Memorial Day holiday weekend with their families.

Week 6 focused on fire and smoke behavior along with engine company operations. Students reviewed fire development, reading smoke conditions, fire flow paths, and coordinated engine company tactics including hose line deployment, water supply, fire attack, and operational decision making on the fireground.

Week 7 concentrated on department equipment familiarization and truck company operations. Students conducted a comprehensive review of the equipment carried throughout the department while also covering truck company responsibilities including forcible entry, ventilation, search operations, ground ladders, utility control, and scene support functions.

Following the holiday, the program will conclude with a full-scale practical scenario involving the entire department. During this final evolution, students will be required to apply everything they have learned throughout the course in a realistic incident environment that will test leadership, communication, fireground operations, and decision making skills.

Stay tuned for more updates as our future officers prepare for the final installment of the program.

Members of the Bristol Borough Fire Association spent Wednesday night training on water rescue operations, focusing on land-based rescue techniques.

Crews reviewed and practiced the deployment of throw bags, water crossing techniques, and the construction and operation of 3:1 rope systems used during rescue operations in moving water environments. Training emphasized firefighter safety, communication, teamwork, and proper rope handling during emergency situations along waterways and flood conditions.

Regular hands-on training ensures our members remain prepared to safely and effectively operate during water rescue incidents throughout Bristol Borough and the surrounding communities.

Members of the Bristol Borough Fire Association responded Tuesday night for a reported building fire in Station 52’s local.

Units arrived quickly and investigated a smoke condition inside the occupancy. After a thorough investigation, crews determined the cause of the smoke was a resident burning incense.

The incident serves as a reminder to always use caution when burning candles, incense, or other open flame items inside the home, and to ensure working smoke alarms are installed and maintained.

Units operated on scene for a short period before returning available
