We'd like your help!

At the Bristol Fire Department, we train the way we respond — in real-world conditions. Emergencies don’t happen in empty parking lots or the ramp at the public safety building, so it’s important that our members practice in environments that look and feel like the situations we could face anytime.

That means stretching hose lines to actual front doors, maneuvering around items in the yard, and positioning apparatus — including our aerial device — in realistic settings. The more true-to-life our training is, the better prepared we are to serve you when it matters most.

We’re currently looking for residents who would be willing to allow us to use their property for training. This could include:

• Stretching hose lines to your home’s exterior
• Practicing patient removal paths with a stretcher
• Positioning and operating the aerial ladder

🔹 We will NOT look inside, touch, or enter your home
🔹 We will NOT use, move, or damage your property
🔹 All training is supervised and conducted with safety as our top priority

If you’re interested in helping us train and would like to be added to the list of possible properties or would like more information, please contact the station at 603-744-2632.

Thank you for your support and helping us stay ready to protect our community!

Here is a spring reminder that, yes the snow just went away and ground may seem wet, but is very dry on the surface. Friday at 15:48hrs we were dispatched to an outside fire spreading on Peaked Hill Rd. We arrived to find a 20x50 area burning on side of the road caused by a tree on the primary lines that burnt off the end and landed on dry duff causing the fire. You now need a permit for outside fires and please use caution discarding other materials that could cause a fire.

As National Flood Awareness Week comes to an end, we’d like to remind everyone that the melting snow combined with rainfall can quickly lead to rising water levels, flooded roadways, and fast-moving streams. Additionally, ice is beginning to crack and shift, creating large floating hazards and ice dams.

Please remember:
🚧 Never drive through flooded roads — it only takes a small amount of moving water to carry a vehicle away.
👀 Stay alert for local road closures such as Coolidge Woods, Profile Falls, and Bog Road and other high water areas.
🏠 Keep an eye on nearby streams, culverts, and drainage areas around your home.
📱 Monitor local weather forecasts and alerts.

Flooding can happen quickly this time of year, and the safest choice is always to Turn Around, Don’t Drown.

If you encounter a hazardous situation or need assistance, please call 911.

If you’re missing your pup please call the PD.

❄️ Winter Weekend Safety Reminder ❄️

It’s shaping up to be a beautiful weekend to get outside and enjoy all that winter in NH has to offer—snowmobiling, ice fishing, skiing, skating, and all the other cold-weather activities.

While the sun may be out, temperatures will remain cold with wind chills well below zero. Take time to warm up indoors, wear plenty of layers, and make sure no skin is exposed. Frostbite can happen faster than you think.

If you’re heading out on the ice, have a plan and share it with a buddy before you go.

Enjoy the weekend, be smart, and stay safe out there!

It’s really coming down out there! We’ve already got 4” on the ground with lots more to come. Please stay home if you can, don’t crowd the plow, and tip your hat to the DPW workers who will be out well into tomorrow.

The Bristol Fire Department has upstaffed this evening and is ready to respond to any and all emergencies, as always.

Remember to call 911 in an emergency.

01/21/2026

We are expecting dangerously cold temperatures over the next several days, with overnight lows nearing -10°F and wind chills ranging from -20°F to -30°F below zero.

With heating systems working overtime, now is a good time to take a few minutes to check your home:
• Make sure heating exhaust and intake pipes are clear of snow and ice
• Keep vents and flues unobstructed
• Use space heaters safely and never use cooking appliances to heat your home
• Plug space heaters directly into outlets, not extension cords, and keep away from anything combustible
• Never use grills or generators indoors

These extreme conditions can be life-threatening. Please check on vulnerable neighbors, bring pets indoors, and limit time outside when possible.

Remember to call 911 for emergencies.

01/13/2026

Members of the Bristol Fire Department will be on Newfound Lake this evening for ice rescue training. Rough timeframe of 6:30-8:30 pm. Please don’t be alarmed.

Thank you!
