Looking for a fun family activity? 🙂

As you’re planning your weekend, please make time to enjoy a movie under the stars with the Bristol Tennessee Department of Parks & Recreation!

Bristol Big Screen Nights will bring activities, snacks, movies and family fun to Ida Stone Jones Tennis Center and nearby Tennessee Middle School this Saturday, June 20, beginning at 7 p.m. We'll begin on the tennis courts with LEGO activities - including free play and building competitions - then assemble on the school soccer field nearby at dusk for a showing of the LEGO movie. Bring a chair or a blanket and enjoy free popcorn. This event is offered free to the public, thanks to the generous support of sponsors Bristol Bricks and Westfall Orthodontics.

Teens ages 11-18 are invited to join us for a Fantasy World Building Workshop this Thursday, June 11! If you have an interest in writing fantasy or creating campaigns for tabletop roleplaying games like D&D, come develop ideas through exercises and discussion with ETSU creative writing faculty member Dr. Mark Baumgartner! We'll meet in the BPL Teen Space from 3-4:30 pm; registration is requested by calling 276-821-6192 or going to https://linktr.ee/bplteens

Build fantasy worlds for fiction or tabletop role-playing games at our Fantasy World Building Workshop! Dr. Mark Baumgartner will lead you through writing exercises and discussion, and give you tools for creating settings, characters, and more. The workshop will be held Thursday, June 11 in the Bristol Public Library Teen Space from 3-4:30 pm; everyone ages 11-18 is welcome. Registration is requested at https://linktr.ee/bplteens

Summer Reading has arrived, and who says that kids should have all the fun?

This year's theme, "Unearth a Story," invites adult readers to uncover a treasure trove of tales with our Adult Summer Reading Book Bingo. Participants who achieve a regular bingo (up to four times) can choose between a coffee mug or a notebook and pen set as their prize. Additionally, those who complete the entire card and achieve a blackout bingo will be entered for a chance to win a 16 GB Gen 11 Kindle eReader.

To join in, please sign up and pick up a bingo sheet at the Reference Desk. Be sure to look at the back of the sheet for additional information!
