Youth For Tomorrow was founded in 1986 by former Head Coach, Joe Gibbs of the Washington Redskins. Our organization has grown from a group home for at-risk teen boys to a robust organization that offers 16 nationally accredited programs in both residential and outpatient settings. On our 200 acre main campus located in Bristow VA, we have 11 homes which is "home" to over 150 boys and girls each da

y. YFT also has six regional offices located in Fairfax, Fauquier, Loudoun and Prince William Counties which provides out-patient behavioral health services. Additional programs include Foster Care, Therapeutic Day Treatment in area public schools Intensive In-Home services and mentoring. Youth For Tomorrow have earned national accreditations from The Joint Commission and Council on Accreditation.

🏀 Inspiring the next generation, one drill at a time! 🏀

Yesterday we were honored to welcome the George Mason Women's Basketball Team to YFT for an exciting basketball clinic with our girls. Led by Head Coach Vanessa Blair-Lewis and her coaching staff, the team shared their skills, encouragement, and passion for the game through a series of engaging drills and mentorship.

This incredible partnership, initiated by longtime Trustee Jon Peterson, continues to create meaningful opportunities for our youth. From basketball clinics to attending games at EagleBank Arena, our boys and girls have been able to experience college athletics firsthand and connect with outstanding student-athletes.

A heartfelt thank you to Marvin Lewis, the GMU Athletic Department, Coach Blair-Lewis, and the entire Patriots program for investing in our kids and inspiring them to dream big both on and off the court. 💚💛

June is National PTSD Awareness Month—a time to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and support those carrying the invisible wounds of trauma.

PTSD affects millions of Americans, including many veterans, active-duty service members, and military families. Yet PTSD is not a sign of weakness—it is a natural response to experiencing or witnessing trauma.

Some common signs of PTSD may include:
🔹 Intrusive memories, nightmares, or flashbacks
🔹 Avoiding people, places, or situations that trigger memories
🔹 Feeling detached, numb, or overwhelmed
🔹 Being constantly on edge, easily startled, or experiencing anger outbursts

Today, we celebrate Flag Day and the symbols that unite and inspire us.

We proudly wave the American flag in gratitude for the freedoms we enjoy, the Virginia flag in honor of our Commonwealth's rich history and values, and the Youth For Tomorrow flag as a reminder of our commitment to providing hope, healing, and brighter futures for at-risk youth.

Each flag tells a story of courage, perseverance, and purpose. Together, they represent the pride we have in our country, our community, and the life-changing mission we carry forward every day.

One of our favorite celebrations of the year is our Graduation Ceremony! 🎓✨

Last Thursday, we proudly celebrated six YFT graduates, along with residents who successfully completed the YFT program, students transitioning from middle school to high school, and several exemplary students who received special achievement awards.

This annual event is always a joyful and uplifting opportunity to recognize the hard work, growth, and accomplishments of our residents. One of the highlights was a heartfelt graduation speech from one of our residents, who shared cherished memories and expressed gratitude for her time at YFT. As she embarks on an exciting new chapter by joining the U.S. Navy, we could not be prouder of her.

Congratulations to our six graduates and all of the residents who continue to work diligently toward brighter futures. Your perseverance, determination, and achievements inspire us all! 💙

🎶 There’s joy in the House of the Lord! 🙏

At Youth For Tomorrow, we are blessed to provide opportunities for our residents and staff to gather each Sunday in the Peterson Family Chapel for worship, fellowship, and spiritual growth. Together, we learn about the love, grace, and hope found in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

We believe in the power of community and the strength that comes from growing in faith together. As Scripture reminds us:

"For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them." — Matthew 18:20

We are grateful for these moments of worship that bring encouragement, connection, and joy to our YFT family. ❤️

Yesterday was the perfect day for the 30th Annual Golf Classic! ⛳️☀️

From the opening prayer and Mega Putt Contest to a fun yet competitive day on the course, every moment made for an unforgettable tournament. Golfers enjoyed a delicious breakfast and lunch from Ford’s Fish Shack, tasty nachos during the day, and a fantastic awards dinner featuring Chuy’s famous fajitas before the winning teams were announced. 🏆🏌

Special thanks to Jon Peterson for his leadership over the years, Karen Dennison for all the work she put into the event and all of the volunteers who helped out the day of! 💚

The day was filled with great golf, wonderful fellowship, and incredible support for our mission. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make this milestone event such a tremendous success! 🌟

Our last took us back to Burgundy & Gold Banquets of years past, but today we’re reflecting on the unforgettable memories made at the 37th Annual Burgundy & Gold just over three weeks ago! ✨🏈

The evening was filled with incredible moments, including the presentation of the 2025 Quarterback Club of Washington Player of the Year Award to Commanders punter Tress Way, and the Ed Block Courage Award to guard Sam Cosmi. Guests were also deeply moved as several former YFT residents joined Dr. Jones on stage to share in the impact and mission of Youth For Tomorrow.

The true highlight of the night was hearing Coach Joe Gibbs and Coach Tony Dungy share heartfelt stories about their football careers, their families, and the importance of faith. It was truly an inspiring and unforgettable evening! 💛
