The Nokesville Volunteers are proud to support local events within and around our communities. Yesterday evening, the Nokesville Volunteers provided the Tower Ladder, Engine Company, Ambulance, and Brush Truck from Fire Station 25 to assist with the Demolition Derby at the Prince William County Fairgrounds. A fun night for all with one small vehicle fire mixed in!

🚨 Did you know that the Nokesville Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department owns and operates a 100% volunteer Canteen Unit?

💪 Our Canteen Unit is a specialized emergency vehicle designed to support emergency personnel on the scenes of prolonged incidents, inclement weather conditions, or incidents requiring larger scale responses than usual. The Canteen Unit’s job is to provide hot and/or cold food and beverages, snacks, hand warmers, and other small amenities to support emergency personnel operating on these incidents - keeping them warm or cool, full, nourished and refreshed so they can continue to be ready to operate for extended periods of time in any conditions they may face!

🚒 Housed at Fire Station 25 in Bristow, this Canteen Unit is the only Emergency Vehicle of its kind within the Prince William County Fire & Rescue System. Not only does this unit respond to incidents within Prince William County, but is available upon request throughout the Northern Virginia and DC area!

This past month, Fire Station 25 received a much needed upgrade. Our gear lockers that were original to the firehouse when it was opened in 2005 were replaced. As the membership numbers grew over the years, temporary “rolling lockers” were implemented to help alleviate the congestion and lack of space for Firefighters and EMTs to safely store their Personal Protective Equipment.

80 freestanding and “rolling” lockers were removed, and 107 new wall mounted Personal Protective Equipment lockers were installed. This successfully accommodates all of the current 58 operational Fire and EMS volunteers, as well the 26 career personnel assigned to Fire Station 25.

Upgrades and implementations like these are huge for us, and aide us behind the scenes in being able to quickly and efficiently serve our surrounding communities. These before and after photos say it all! Now that we have extras, one of these could have your name on it!
