BRISTOW POLICE DEPARTMENT TAKES ACTION IN CHILD EXPLOITATION INVESTIGATION

On August 10, 2026, officers from the Bristow Police Department, working alongside the Creek County District Attorney’s Office and the OSBI Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, executed a search warrant at a residence in Bristow as part of an investigation involving the attempted purchase of child sexual abuse material.
This investigation began after investigators received information regarding suspected criminal activity. Through diligent investigative work, investigators were able to develop sufficient information to obtain a search warrant for the residence.
During the ex*****on of the warrant, investigators seized multiple electronic devices and other evidence for further forensic examination

As a result of the investigation, Derrick Carney III of Bristow was taken into custody. Carney is being charged with:
• Attempted Purchase of Child Sexual Abuse Material
• Violation of the Oklahoma Computer Crimes Act

The Bristow Police Department takes crimes involving the exploitation of children extremely seriously. There is no place in our community for individuals who seek to exploit or harm children.

Our investigators will continue to pursue credible information, conduct thorough investigations, and work with our local, state, and federal partners to identify those involved in these crimes.
We are grateful for the cooperation and assistance provided by the Creek County District Attorney’s Office and the OSBI Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. Investigations such as this require dedication, specialized resources, and cooperation between law enforcement agencies.

Most importantly, we want the citizens of Bristow to know that protecting our children remains one of our highest priorities. Our officers will continue to work every day to make Bristow a safer community and will not hesitate to investigate those who threaten the safety and well-being of our children.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

August 3, 2026
Bristow Police Department Conducts a Child Exploitation Investigation

On August 3, 2026, officers from the Bristow Police Department, in cooperation with the Creek County District Attorney’s Office and the OSBI Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, conducted a search warrant at a residence in the Bristow area.

Investigators acted on information received during the course of the investigation and subsequently secured a search warrant for the residence. The warrant was related to suspected crimes involving child sexual abuse material.

During the ex*****on of the search warrant, investigators located numerous images of child sexual abuse material. As the investigation progressed, officers determined that the suspect was allegedly distributing these images to other individuals.
Numerous computers, cellular phones, electronic storage devices, and other items of evidentiary value were recovered during the search. Investigators also recovered a quantity of methamphetamine and various items of drug paraphernalia.

Additionally, investigators recovered an AR-15-style rifle, a large quantity of ammunition, multiple magazines, and tactical gear.

During the operation, Edward Jetmore, of Bristow, was taken into custody. Jetmore is being charged with:
• Distribution of Child Po*******hy
• Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance
• Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
• Possession of a Firearm After Former Conviction of a Felony
• Possession of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony

The Bristow Police Department would like to thank the Creek County District Attorney’s Office and the OSBI Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force for their assistance and cooperation throughout this investigation.

We also want to recognize the diligent work of the investigators and officers involved. Investigations involving the exploitation of children are among the most serious cases law enforcement encounters, and our officers remain committed to protecting the children and families of our community.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

On July 9, 2026, the Bristow Police Department, in partnership with the Oklahoma Attorney General's Office, executed three search warrants in the area of First Street and Chestnut Street. The warrants were the result of a lengthy investigation into the illegal sale of ma*****na.
The search warrants were served at Ontrac Convenience Store, Famous Dispensary, and a private residence. As a result of the operation, two individuals were taken into custody on multiple charges related to the illegal sale of ma*****na.
The Bristow Police Department has received numerous complaints regarding these businesses over an extended period. This investigation lasted several months, allowing officers to thoroughly investigate the alleged criminal activity and gather the evidence necessary to take enforcement action.
We appreciate the assistance provided by the Oklahoma Attorney General's Office throughout this investigation. Their partnership was instrumental in the successful ex*****on of these warrants and reflects our shared commitment to enforcing Oklahoma law and making Bristow a safer community for our citizens.
As this is an active criminal investigation, no further information will be released at this time.

Following a brief weather delay, we have been informed that the fireworks are in optimal condition and we are poised to commemorate America's 250th anniversary in grand style with the Bristow fireworks display. The DJ will resume entertainment. Many vendors will also return. We eagerly anticipate welcoming everyone this evening for a spectacular show.

During National Police Week, we would like to recognize the efforts of Jamie McFarland. For the past 7 years, Jamie has worked with a multitude of different companies to help make Police Week special for the officers of the Bristow Police Department.

Each year, our officers receive bags filled with donated items from various vendors as a thank you for the work they do in serving our community. While it may seem like a simple task, coordinating these donations and putting the bags together takes nearly three months of hard work and dedication.

The Bristow Police Department would like to remind everyone of the upcoming road closures on Saturday, May 9, 2026, for Tabouli Fest and the Wildflower Run.

Tabouli Fest Closures

Main Street (Highway 66) will be closed from 6:00 AM until approximately 5:00 PM.

Wildflower Run Closures

The northwest part of the city will have temporary closures from 8:30 AM until approximately 10:00 AM.

The affected area includes:

From 6th Street north to 12th Street

From Main Street (Highway 66) west to the golf course

Please plan alternate routes and allow extra travel time during these events. Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we support these community activities.

On May 6, 2026, the Bristow Police Department received a call from Bristow Public Schools regarding a threat made toward one of the school sites. Upon receiving the information, the Bristow Police Department was able to identify the origin of the threat.
The Bristow Police Department then began working with the Creek County Sheriff’s Office, District 24 Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force, and the Creek County District Attorney’s Office to resolve the situation. Through a coordinated team effort, these agencies were able to execute a plan that ensures the safety of our students, community, and visitors from this threat.
We would like to thank Bristow Public Schools for their attention and assistance during this time. The Bristow Police Department and our partner agencies will continue working to keep Bristow Public Schools safe and secure.
At this time we are unable to release any further information due to the age of the suspect.
