BBFD and WHPFD currently on scene with a large tree across the road with live wires down in the area of 16 Rolocut Rd. The road is completely impassable. Eversource Electric has been notified and enroute. Few homes in the area are without power. Please avoid the area, this will more than likely be a long term closure. DPW has been called for road block signs to keep non-residential traffic out of the area.

⚠️ COMMUNITY NOTICE: Unlicensed Door-to-Door Solicitation

The East Windsor Police Department has received numerous complaints regarding aggressive door-to-door sales tactics from representatives of Moxie Pest Control. We have also been monitoring similar reports and concerns shared on local East Windsor, CT Facebook community pages.

Earlier today, officers located these individuals. They have been officially cited for soliciting without a permit and have been advised that any continued aggressive tactics may result in escalating criminal action.

What you need to know:

Check for Permits: Anyone soliciting door-to-door in East Windsor must have a valid town-issued permit. You have the right to ask to see it.

Report Suspicious Activity: If a salesperson refuses to leave your property, becomes aggressive, or cannot produce a permit, please contact the East Windsor Police Department's non-emergency line immediately at 860-292-8240.

On this beautiful Sunday morning the BBFD took an opportunity to train with some of our out of Town Mutual Aid Partners. All too often the majority of our working relationships are at incident scenes. Training together gave us the knowledge to learn mutual aid’s equipment and tactics, as well as them learning ours. Today we trained on “Supplying the Aerial”. As a Department without an aerial (ladder truck) it is important for us to train how they operate.

Thank you to the Hazardville Fire District, The Ellington Volunteer Fire Department (CT), and all the personnel who turned out this morning to make themselves better. Neighbors helping neighbors.

📉 Unfilled shifts reduced by 65% — from 28% down to 10%

That’s 4 firefighters on during the day, 2 overnight, multiple apparatus and crews responding across Broad Brook, supporting Warehouse Point, and answering mutual aid calls for our neighboring towns — fires, accidents, and medical emergencies at any time of the day or night.

📉 2024–25: 200 shifts unfilled (20%)
📉 2025–26: 98 shifts unfilled (10%)
