We are saddened by the news that retired Firefighter Michael Schenk passed away on 7/21/23. Michael joined the Broadview Fire Department in 1974 and dedicated 25 years of service to the Broadview community.
A memorial celebration / visitation and Mass will be held on 8/24/23 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Darien, IL 60561.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s hospital or charity of your choice.

Construction has started on the NEW VILLAGE HALL PARKING LOT and will last approximately 30 days. During this period, there will be no access to the parking lot on the south side of the Village Hall.
Residents, business partners and visitors who need to conduct business at Village Hall must park on the NORTH SIDE OF THE BUILDING in the the Police Department parking area.

Broadview Residents,
Improvements are coming to the Village Hall Parking Lot!
Through the hard-work and diligence of Village President, Katrina Thompson and the Village Board of Trustees, the Village of Broadview was able to enter into an agreement with the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District (MWRD) to provide cost assistance for an upcoming project that will replace the existing parking lot with new permeable pavers. The new parking lot will be installed above an aggregate storage area that will help remove approximately 60,000 gallons of rainwater from the Village’s combined sewer system!
Construction is expected to start on July 31st and last approximately 30 days. During this period, there will be no access to the parking lot on the south side of the Village Hall. Residents, business partners and visitors who need to conduct business at Village Hall must park on the north side of the building in the the Police Department parking area.

As we enjoy Christmas take a few minutes to remember the 87 Line of Duty Firefighters Deaths so far this year and 2095 children, women and men that died in residential fires so far this year.

Broadview Engine 215 a 1952 American LaFrance fire engine is being auctioned by Mathew Bullock Acutioneers LLC in Ottawa, IL. The latest bid I last seen was $ 3,500.00 well below the selling price the current owner was asking for it when he was selling it on his own. It can be viewed on the I Grew Up In Broadview site or Broadview Retires site.
Many of us retirees think it would be a good idea for the village to try to obtain this pice of Broadview Fire Department history to be returned to the Fire Department and use as a paraid pice. Any support you can give will be greatly appreciated
