Traffic Advisory

Please be advised that milling and resurfacing work on Massasoit Boulevard is scheduled to begin in the coming days.

During this project, which is expected to continue over the next six weeks, motorists and pedestrians should anticipate reduced speed limits, uneven road surfaces, raised structures, detours, and intermittent partial road closures.

MCCPD detail officers will be on-site to assist with traffic management and ensure roadway safety.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation as the college works to enhance and improve campus infrastructure.

It is with profound sorrow that I share the passing of Lieutenant Robert Skahan. He passed away this morning, surrounded by his loving family, following a courageous and dignified battle with cancer. Lieutenant Skahan’s unwavering commitment to this Department and to the College was evident in every aspect of his service. His professionalism, steadfast loyalty to the oath he swore, and the respect that he showed to everyone he encountered is the very meaning of having compassion, integrity, and dedication as a police officer.

The Massasoit Police Department will be forever grateful for Lieutenant Skahan’s service and the dedication that he displayed. The void that he leaves behind can never be, nor will it ever be, replaced. Godspeed Lieutenant Skahan.

Memorial Day always has been known as the unofficial beginning to summer. We all sit in Cape traffic, have BBQ's, prepare for graduations and summer vacations. Memorial Day is a day for reflection, a day to recognize how truly lucky and fortunate we are to have the freedoms we have. For 250 years the men and women of this country have paid the ultimate sacrifice . They have been Fighting for Freedom for all of us so we can enjoy these moments with our families. Take a moment and reflect on that. We at the Massasoit Police Department recognize these men and women who never came home. They are Real American Heroes.

As we near the conclusion of final exams and turn our attention to Commencement 2026, we extend our sincere gratitude to our community for helping to foster a safe and supportive learning and working environment throughout the academic year.
