Today, members of the Brockton Police and Fire Honor Guards participated in the City of Brockton Memorial Day ceremony inside the War Memorial Building on West Elm Street after inclement weather moved the annual event indoors. We remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.

A BROCKTON TRADITION SINCE 1897
Today, the Huntington School Parade continued its proud march through the city, a tradition that has stayed strong for over 125 years!

What began generations ago as a way to honor our fallen heroes remains a cornerstone of our community today. As our students, families, and educators march these streets, they carry forward a legacy of remembrance and respect for those who gave everything.

This parade is more than just a walk through the neighborhood; it is a living tribute. From the smallest waves in Ms. Poteau’s Kindergarten class to the high-fives from the Chief along the route, today was a beautiful reminder of the traditions that bring us all together.

A huge thank you to the students and educators from schools across the city who participated, and to the neighbors who lined the streets to cheer them on. Brockton showed up today just like it has for over a century!

As we near the conclusion of Police Week, Officer Ed Abdelnour reflects on the life and sacrifice of Sergeant John Gilbert, who gave his life in service to Brockton in 1984.

His courage endures. His legacy lives on. We will never forget.

As Police Week continues, we take another moment to remember one of our own.

Tonight, Officer Nathan Razza shares the story of Officer John Savalis, who was killed in the line of duty in 1980.

Though decades have passed, his sacrifice remains part of the history and identity of the Brockton Police Department. We invite our community to pause with us once again as we honor his service and reflect on the legacy he left behind.

As Police Week continues, we again pause as a department to honor one of our fallen officers.

Today, Officer Lindsay Ferebee reads the story of Officer John Sullivan, who was killed in the line of duty in 1931. His sacrifice continues to shape the legacy of the Brockton Police Department. We invite our community to pause with us and remember.

Beginning today, the Brockton Police Department will mark Police Week by honoring four of our officers who were killed in the line of duty.

Each day this week, we will share the story of one fallen officer. It's a reminder that sacrifice spans generations.

Today, we remember Officer John Guyette, killed in 1919.

We’re saddened by the loss of a Massachusetts State Trooper who died following a wrong-way crash on Route 1 in Lynnfield.

The Trooper was responding to reports of a wrong-way driver putting himself in harm’s way to protect others.

We extend our deepest condolences to the Trooper’s family and our partners at the Massachusetts State Police

Please keep them in your thoughts.

We told you to stay tuned… now get ready for something special.

Today, we’re wishing a very happy 6th birthday to K9 Kilo.

From a young K9 police academy graduate to a trusted partner alongside Sgt. Robert DiLiddo, Kilo, has spent years helping protect our community by tracking, searching, and always being ready when called.

Off duty, he appreciates a good pup cup. On duty, he’s all business.

Happy Birthday, Kilo! Thank you for your service.
