Snow Update – March 2, 2026

The PARKING BAN IS LIFTED as of 4:30 pm today (Monday, March 2). Vehicles parked in City lots must be removed by 8:00 pm this evening.

The Department of Public Works (DPW) is clearing sidewalks in front of schools and removing snow from street corners to improve visibility for drivers. Crews are prioritizing main intersections and school areas to help students and motorists travel safely.

We remind residents to clear fire hydrants and sidewalks in front of their homes

The regular winter parking ban is in effect through April 1, and restricts parking as follows:
--No parking on the even-numbered side of the street between 12:00 am and 7:00 am
--No parking on either side of designated major roads for the entire winter season
For full details, visit:https://brockton.ma.us/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Winter-Ban-English.pdf

The City thanks the DPW, first responders, Brockton Police, Brockton Emergency Management, the Building and Parks Departments, and all staff who supported snow removal efforts. We also thank residents and businesses for their cooperation.

Although this recent storm brought historic snowfall, we know our response did not meet everyone’s expectations. We appreciate your patience and are reviewing what worked and what needs improvement to better prepare for future storms.

❄️🚨 A Heartfelt Thank You After the Historic Blizzard of 2026 🚨❄️

On behalf of the Mayor Moises M. Rodrigues, The City of Brockton, the Brockton Emergency Management Agency and Director Steve Hooke we would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency (MEMA), MassDOT, and the dedicated men and women of the Massachusetts National Guard — The Nation's First 182nd Infantry Regiment out of Melrose for their incredible support and partnership during this historic blizzard.

Their assistance, coordination, and boots-on-the-ground efforts were critical in helping us navigate extreme conditions, maintain public safety, and support our residents when they needed it most.

Storm response of this magnitude takes teamwork, preparation, and unwavering commitment — and we are truly grateful for the professionalism and dedication shown throughout this event.

Thank you for standing with Brockton. 💙
