RecyclingWorks in Massachusetts (Recycling Works MA) will host a hybrid Spring 2026 Forum on Wednesday, May 27th, from 9:00 AM – 12:30 PM at Worcester State University.

The forum will bring together industry professionals to share ideas, resources, and practical solutions through presentations and discussions on topics including surplus food donation best practices, new resources for reusable take-out containers, and successful programs that divert wasted food and organics from disposal.

Join us on Wednesday, June 3rd, from 2:00 PM – 3:30 PM, for the first webinar of the Southeastern MA Farmland Protection Initiative four-part series.

The Old Colony Planning Council, Wildlands Trust, and Southeastern Regional Economic Development District are partnering to help protect valuable and vulnerable Chapter 61A farmlands in southeastern MA by supporting the use of farmland protection tools.

The first webinar will focus on farmland protection tools and techniques municipalities can use to support farmland protection in their communities, including permanent farmland protection tools, municipal planning and zoning tools, Agricultural Commissions, CPA funds, and the benefits of partnering with a land trust.

The FY27 Community One Stop for Growth Full Application Submission Period is now open. Full applications may be submitted through the IGX System and must be submitted no later than Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at 11:59 PM.

The Expression of Interest (EOI) will remain open through the application deadline and is strongly encouraged as part of the One Stop. Using the new EOI Agent, applicants can receive project-specific guidance to help identify programs that align with their project, clarify project readiness, and strengthen their full application.

OCPC is currently conducting the Route 80 Corridor Study in Plymouth and Kingston in collaboration with the towns, MassDOT, and regional transportation planning partners since Fall 2025. The study evaluates traffic congestion, roadway safety, bicycle and pedestrian accessibility, and environmental conditions, and will provide recommendations.

Upcoming virtual public meetings will present draft findings, and residents, business owners, travelers, community groups, regional partners, agencies, and the public are encouraged to participate and share their vision for the future of the corridor. Public input will help inform final study findings and recommendations.

This Older Americans Month, OCPC is proud to celebrate the strength, resilience, and contributions of older adults in our communities. Through the OCPC Ombudsman Program, we remain committed to supporting healthy, engaged aging at every stage of life.

We’re also highlighting valuable resources from the Administration for Community Living (ACL), including the “Helping You Live Long and Stay Strong” campaign, consumer publications on healthy aging and caregiving, and uplifting community photo submissions that celebrate older adults and their stories.
