“Hi,
Lester here. I was adopted 2 yrs ago and I'm living my best life. I have been coming to Paws in the Park and Dogtoberfest since I was adopted. I enjoy seeing all the staff that took such good care of me while I was waiting to be adopted, and they still remember me! I'm such a handsome boy, and Mom tells me I'm her best boy. I've been showing my brother the ropes since he came to live with me. He's not the smartest, but we're working on it.
Mom and I would like to say thank you for caring for me, and making sure I got the Bestist home ever.

💔 Pip has been here since April, and she deserves so much more than waiting in a shelter. She deserves a home. 🏡

This brave, beautiful girl came to us after spending months lost outside on her own. Despite everything she’s been through, Pip has remained an outgoing, confident girl who absolutely loves being the center of attention. 🥹💕

Pip is a Flemish Giant mix, and because of her history, we unfortunately don’t know her exact age. What we do know is that she has a BIG personality to match her big size! She’s affectionate, curious, and always ready to make sure everyone knows she’s in the room. 👑🐰

Pip also has a little bit of sass when it comes to her personal space. She’s not afraid to let you know when she’s had enough, so she’s looking for someone who understands rabbit body language and will respect her boundaries. In return, you’ll have one unforgettable, larger-than-life bunny by your side. ❤️

If you have room in your heart (and your home!) for a big bun with an even bigger personality, please consider giving Pip a chance. She is looking for a rabbit-savvy adopter who will love her for exactly who she is.

Our foster homes are caring for growing kittens who need both wet and dry food, and we are in desperate need of a restock.

Today we received an incredibly generous donation. Tim Morey has chosen to cover the adoption fees of all of our adult and senior cats in memory of his long time girlfriend, Jane M. Murphy ❤

Jane and Tim adopted a bonded pair from us 17 years ago. This donation will make an enormous impact on the cats in our care, and will reduce a financial barrier for those looking to adopt in the coming weeks.

If you are looking to adopt a cat, now is a wonderful time 🙂

Update: Adopted!!!

We spotted Leo with his wand toy draped across his back - it's his most prized possession! 🤣

Leo is an adoptable 5 year old male cat who is currently residing in one of the shelter offices. We usually let our more timid animals hang out in there to adjust to the shelter environment.

Over time Leo has gotten increasingly comfortable with us, and has grown to be a bit of a “Velcro cat” to our development coordinator when she’s in the office. When he becomes attached, he’ll observe you, purr incessantly, and just want to be close.

He does, however, have a bit of a naughty side. He gets overstimulated easily and may bite or swat. We attribute this to his tenacious mouser skills (as you can see in the video with his fierce playfulness of the wand toy). He is certainly a hunter with a thirst for blood 😈 Mice beware!!! 🐭

If you’re looking for a chunky cat that will become obsessed with you and is also kind of a punk - Leo just might be your guy. He’s looking for a relatively quiet home with someone who will go slow with him to build a relationship, provide just the right amount of enrichment (a few wand toys and a window to watch the birds should do the trick 😉) and above all - a brave cat lover looking to take on a misunderstood boy. ❤️‍🩹❤️

If you’re interested in meeting Leo, feel free to pop in during our open hours on Tuesday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday from 1-5 PM. The APCSM is located at 1300 West Elm St Ext in Brockton.

We have some wonderful news to share!

APCSM has been awarded a $1,000 Community Support Grant from Cape Cod 5 to support Sprout’s Pantry, our pet food assistance program for families experiencing financial hardship.

In 2025, Sprout’s Pantry distributed approximately 13,000 pounds of pet food, helping provide food for more than 1,300 dogs and cats. This grant will help us purchase supplemental food when donations are low and cover some of the supplies and operational needs that keep our Pantry running safely and efficiently.

Most importantly, this support helps us make sure that families facing temporary financial hardship have access to the resources they need to keep their pets healthy and at home.

Sprout’s Pantry was renamed in honor of Sprout, a severely malnourished dog who came into our care last year. Despite being just hours from death, Sprout made an incredible recovery, gaining triple her weight in just three months. Her story reminds us why we do this work and how much a little help can change an animal’s life.

Thank you to Cape Cod 5 for supporting Sprout’s Pantry and the pets and families who rely on it! We’re so grateful to have you as part of our community. ❤️
