We are excited to announce that the public bathrooms at the Chestnuthill Township Park will be getting a well-deserved renovation beginning next Monday August 3rd!

Beginning on August 3rd, both the men's and the women's bathrooms will be closed to the public. They will remain closed until the construction of these facilities is complete. During this time, there will be two porta-potties installed in the same general area of the bathrooms for public use. These facilities will be serviced twice a week to help ensure a cleanly facility while the renovations are occurring.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause; however, we are excited to update and improve these facilities for the users of the park!

Traffic Update โ€“ Route 115

I've received several messages asking why Route 115 is closed near Gilbert Road.

The closure is due to a tree that has fallen onto power lines. PPL has closed the road and is aware of the situation; however, crews are currently responding to multiple emergency incidents and widespread outages throughout Monroe County before they can address this location. As a result, there is no estimated reopening time at this point.

Please avoid the area if possible and use an alternate route. I'll share updates as soon as more information becomes available.

Thank you for your patience, and please stay safe.

I am proud to announce that Chestnuthill Township, in partnership with the Western Pocono Women's Club and American Legion Post 927, is once again accepting applications for our Hometown Heroes Banner Program.

This program recognizes the veterans who have called Chestnuthill Township home by displaying personalized banners throughout the Route 209 roundabouts. The 2027 banners will be installed in May and remain on display for two years.

Banner locations are limited and applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until all spaces are filled. After that, applicants will be placed on a waiting list for the next two-year display cycle.

If you have a veteran you'd like to honor, I encourage you to submit an application soon.

Applications are available at the Chestnuthill Township Municipal Building. The banner cost is $110.00.

If you have any questions regarding the Hometown Heroes Banner Program, please contact the Township Office at 570-992-7247 or email [email protected].

On behalf of the Board of Supervisors, thank you to the Western Pocono Women's Club and American Legion Post 927 for their continued partnership in recognizing the men and women who have served our country.

Over the past two years, the Chestnuthill, Jackson, Eldred, Ross, and Polk Township Regional Planning Committee has been working on an update to the CJERP Regional Comprehensive Plan. Throughout that process, I have shared updates, public meeting information, and the community survey in an effort to gather resident input.

The draft Comprehensive Plan is now available for public review on the Township website.

If you have followed the process from the beginning, thank you for your participation. If you missed the surveys, meetings, or previous updates, it is not too late to have your voice heard.

The draft plan will be reviewed by each of the regional partner Planning Commissions and will be on the agenda for the Chestnuthill Township Planning Commission meeting on June 17 at 7pm at the Chestnuthill Township Municipal Building. I encourage all residents to take some time to review the document and share any comments, concerns, or suggestions before the plan moves forward.

Whether you support the recommendations, disagree with certain elements, or simply have questions, this is the time to provide feedback.

You can review the draft plan and related information here: https://www.chestnuthilltwp-pa.gov/2025-cjerp-comprehensive-plan-update
