Several members of the Broken Bow Fire Department recently attended the NSVFA Fire School, including the Grand Island Fire Search Academy, Farm Emergencies & Extrication, Basic Vehicle Extrication, and Intro to Firefighting classes.
The Grand Island Fire Search Academy focused on modern search operations, victim removal techniques, live fire behavior, and fireground strategy centered around one of the most important priorities in the fire service, finding and protecting lives.
Training opportunities like these allow our firefighters to learn from experienced instructors, train in realistic conditions, and bring proven tactics, techniques, and safety practices back to our department and community. The fire service is constantly evolving, and continuing education helps ensure we stay prepared, effective, and ready to serve at the highest level possible.
Whether responding to structure fires, vehicle crashes, or farm emergencies common to rural Nebraska, continuing education helps our department stay current with effective, proven, and safe firefighting and rescue practices. We are proud of the members who dedicated their time to continue building their skills, knowledge, and confidence through training.
Investing in training today helps make all of us better firefighters tomorrow.
Thank you to the NSVFA, Grand Island Fire Department, the instructors, and everyone involved in making these training opportunities possible.
