Paint, plants, and birdhouses made for a busy day at Custer Care. 🎨🌱🐦

The residents and some friends spent the afternoon painting birdhouses, planting flowers, and putting out birdseed for the local birds. We got a little creative, got a little dirty, and had a lot of fun along the way.

Now we’re waiting to see if the birds appreciate all the effort that went into their new dining and housing options. 🐦😊

Yesterday called for butterscotch Dilly Bars, Cherry Pepsi, and patio time 🍒🥤☀️

While everyone enjoyed the sunshine and snacks, we also got started putting together our raised garden beds for the season ahead. A pretty good way to spend the afternoon if you ask us 🌱💛

Today we’re enjoying the sunshine, fresh air, good company, and the little moments that make days like this special. As we spend time together laughing, visiting, and celebrating, we also take time to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. 🇺🇸

We spent some time outside soaking up the beautiful weather, drawing hopscotch, visiting, and raising a cup to a good day with good company. Sometimes the simple afternoons end up being the best ones ❤️

Today was a special afternoon at Custer Care as a local veteran, Jim Downey, was recognized and honored for his service in the United States Army. 🇺🇸

A wonderful group stopped by to honor Jim in recognition of his service! He was able to share the moment with his children and great grandsons by his side!

We are always grateful for opportunities to honor the veterans in our community and hear the stories behind their service. Thank you, Jim, for your service and sacrifice. ❤️

We had the Anselmo-Merna JAG students back with us again yesterday 😊

Round two meant pizza, ice cream, and even more great conversation. The students asked some really thoughtful life questions, and our residents were more than happy to share their answers (and a few laughs along the way).

So much wisdom, laughter, and genuine connection shared across generations. It’s been fun watching these connections grow each visit. We love seeing our residents enjoying good conversation and time spent together around the table.
