Carnegie Libraries Celebrate America 250
June 12, 2026, 1:00pm - 3:00pm

Join us in celebrating the 250th birthday of the United States of America and our 115th year of having our beautiful Carnegie Library building here in Bronson. Mason Rail Time Adventures Carnival will be here with rides and games and Joel Tacey's Tiptop Entertainment will bring the Big Bubble Dance Party. There will be free rides, games and food. Come and help us celebrate!

Fireworks Ordinance Reminders:

The City would like to remind citizens of the current fireworks ordinance. Fireworks can be used during certain times of the year. Below is the list of dates and times that they can be used. Officers will be enforcing the ordinance especially after the 11:45pm cut off time. Please be mindful of your neighbors especially those with animals. Enjoy the 4th of July holiday but be safe and cautious now that we are in dry conditions.

Prohibition on use of consumer fireworks.
(1) A person shall not ignite, discharge or use fireworks within the City, except that consumer fireworks may be discharged on the following dates after 11:00 a.m. on the following days, consistent with Section 7(2) of Public Act 256 of 2011, as amended, and all other applicable local, state, or federal regulations:

A. December 31 until 1:00 a.m. on January 1;
B. The Saturday and Sunday immediately preceding Memorial Day until 11:45 p.m. on each of those days;
C. June 29 to July 4 until 11:45 p.m. on each of those days;
D. July 5, if that date is a Friday or Saturday, until 11:45 p.m.;
E. The Saturday and Sunday immediately preceding Labor Day, until 11:45 p.m. on each of those days.

Penalties:
Violations, fines, penalties and seizure.
(1) Any person, firm, corporation or entity violating the provisions of § b or c of this ordinance shall be guilty of a civil infraction and shall be fined as follows:
A. First offense; a fine of $250.
B. Second Offense within one year of a first offense; a fine of $500.
C. Third and subsequent offenses within two year of first offense; a fine of $1,000.

The City of Bronson and the Bronson Police Department would like to welcome Officer Sam Duckham to the staff. Officer Duckham completed the Kellogg Regional Police Academy last week and passed his licensing exam. He started his Field Training on Monday, June 8th. If you see him, wish him well. We welcome Sam to Bronson and Branch County!!!!

Memorial Day Events in Bronson:

American Legion Post 259 will host a ceremony at the Bronson Cemetery off Wayne Street at 10 a.m. to honor those from the community who served and died in the country’s wars. Pastor Terry Siler will be speaking.

The Bronson Methodist Church holds a donation-only Memorial Day breakfast from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at 312 E. Chicago St.

The breakfast includes pancakes, stuffed French toast, a choice of meat, hash browns, scrambled eggs, biscuits, and gravy. Veterans eat free.
