As we watch the bridge over the Colorado river on Hwy 277 being expanded to two spans, it might be a good time to look back at the old, original bridge.
It was covered in an iron fretwork, and this is a great picture of a BHS senior class of 1939 enjoying an outing on it! Guess there wasn’t as much traffic back then.
But, it makes us wonder why our historic bridge was destroyed, when so many remain around Texas?? Good times!

This photo marks the day when the local Ford dealership celebrated the arrival of one of their newest “Model T’s” - and the whole town turned out to see it! This is the north side of Main Street; many of these buildings are now gone. Does anyone know the date?
