24-Hour Boil Water Advisory

A 24-hour Boil Water Advisory will be in effect for the following areas:

The 500 block of South Main Street, south of Tequila Jalisco (Tequila Jalisco is not included in the advisory).
The 100 and 200 blocks of Lenhart Street.
The 700 block of South Main Street.

Residents in these affected areas are advised to bring all water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, and food preparation to a rolling boil for at least 5 minutes before use.

The advisory is being issued as a precaution while water system work is completed and water quality testing is performed. The advisory will remain in effect for approximately 24 hours and will be lifted once laboratory results confirm the water is safe for consumption.

If you happen to see our crews digging small holes in your yard near your water meter, please don’t be alarmed. We are performing hydro excavation as part of the EPA-required Lead Service Line Inventory.

This is a nationwide requirement, and every water utility is required to verify the material of each water service line. The City of Brookfield has approximately 2,000 water services, with about 63 service lines that are currently listed as “unknown.” In most cases, this is simply due to the age of the records or because the service line may have been replaced at some point in the past.

Our crews are carefully exposing the service line near the meter to identify the pipe material. Once the inspection is complete, the holes will be backfilled, restored, and reseeded as needed.

500 Block E. Wood
500 Block E. Brooks
200-300 Blocks Grant
100-200 Blocks Sheridan
600 Block Lyon

After service is restored, there will be a 24 Hour boil advisory notice in effect for these areas.

Starting on June 22, 2026 the City of Brookfield will be taking the Industrial Tower offline for interior renovations. Sand blasting and a new coating will be applied. System wide water pressure differences can be expected. Renovation is expected to last 30 days from start to finish. Thank you for your patience as this project moves forward.

Filter # 4…. Phase 2… Filter Media has been removed acid etched and cleaned. Epoxy coating applied and will cure for 7 days. Stay tuned for phase 3 when all new filter material will be put back to original plant design. The city’s water department and water plant operators take pride in keeping city infrastructure maintained and updated as improvements continue.

Filter # 4 rehabilitation begins today at the Water Treatment Plant. Again this is done by City personnel using City Equipment.Thanks to the talented crew! Once all old filter media is removed. It will be acid etched and repainted. Once coating is cured we will put pack all new filter material to original specifications. Stay tuned for the finished product.
