Everyone please congratulate Isabella Chavez on passing her CNA Exam!! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

With this achievement, we are proud to celebrate that 17 students successfully obtained their CNA licenses this year at the LCACTC!

Within a month from testing 7 of those students have already secured jobs in our surrounding nursing homes and are putting their license to use!

Watching each student grow in skill, confidence, and compassion has been such a rewarding experience. We are excited to see the impact these future healthcare professionals will make!

National Success in Salt Lake City! ๐Ÿ”๏ธ๐Ÿ†

We are bursting with pride as we return from the JAG National Career Development Conference (NCDC) in Utah! Our students didnโ€™t just compete; they represented our community with excellence, professionalism, and grit.

It is important to remember that just by qualifying for this event, these students are among the top 1% of JAG students in the entire nation. Facing the "best of the best" is no small feat. The competition was incredibly fierce, and while the leaderboards only show the top ten, they don't show the immense growth, confidence, and skill our students displayed under pressure.

Individual Highlights:

Jodi Blaker: Who placed 3rd in Missouri's state JAG competition, placed 8th in the Nation for Career Preparation out of 44 contestants! ๐Ÿ…

Damien Gunter: Who placed 1st in Employability Skills at the state level showcased his interview skills at the national level for the second year in a row.

Kanyon Singleton: Who won first in Missouri's Financial Budget Development gave a very informational and heartfelt interview at Nationals in Salt Lake City.

Gage Hall-Wells, Francis Jones II, and Lily Willis: This team put their skills to the test against elite competition in Creative Decision Making after placing 3rd in the state of Missouri.

Beyond the competitive events, our students participated in a wide range of JAG-focused workshops, networked with business affiliates and fellow JAG students from every corner of the country.

A Huge Thank You: To everyone who offered words of encouragement, donated, or cheered us on from homeโ€”you are part of this success. Thank you for investing in these future leaders!

Members of the Brookfield FCCLA traveled to Columbia on Wednesday, April 29 to visit the Ronald McDonald House of Mid-Missouri. Half of the group helped make meals for the Lunch on the House program by preparing sandwiches and putting together bagged lunches for families staying with their children in local hospitals. The other half of the group decorated the bags with bright colors and pictures. After the lunch was prepared and loaded for delivery, everyone took a tour of the house and learned about the mission behind the Ronald McDonald House. We had a great time volunteering! Members also gave a donation of pull tabs - we are still collecting for next year!

Today, our JAG and Building Trades programs joined forces for a day of volunteer service with Show-Me Central Habitat for Humanity in Columbia.

Our students were on-site at two different homes, putting their classroom knowledge to work. From cleaning and site prep to installing J and F channels and house wrap, these students worked hard to get these homes ready for siding.

Nothing beats seeing our students apply their trades to help a local family get closer to a finished home. Great job today, team!

April is the Month of the Young Child, with this week being the Week of the Young Child.

The ECP program celebrated this week with pajama day, ice cream, chalk, bubbles along with inside fun. The Intro to ECP Class helped out by decorating sidewalks. Happy Week of the Young Child!

The HS JAG program hosted a Pre-K prom for the preschoolers in our district on April 16th. We set up the party in the LCACTC Conference Room with music, a photo station, snacks, and glow party favors.

Funding for the party was provided by the former First Lady of Missouri Teresa Parsonโ€™s Community Service Grant. The grant promoted giving back to others which is a huge part of the JAG program at Brookfield.
