🔥 TRAINING OPPORTUNITY | LIVE FIRE TRAINING 🔥
Back in June, several of your Brookfield Firefighters were invited to participate in a Live Fire Training hosted by McDonald Fire.
It’s not every day that we have the opportunity to train in an actual residential structure, making this a unique and valuable experience for our members. This particular home was especially interesting because it is a Geodesic-style house, a type of structure that can also be found within our response area.
Several Brookfield members participated as students, while others attended as 1403 Live Fire Instructors, helping provide a safe and effective training environment.
During the training, our members had the opportunity to:
đźš’ Observe different ways fire moves throughout a residential structure
🔥 Study fire behavior and flow paths
đź’¦ Practice hoseline advancement
🧯 Work on fire attack and extinguishment
👨‍🚒 Gain valuable experience working together in a live-fire environment
Training in unique structures like this helps our firefighters better understand what they may encounter when responding to an actual emergency in our community.
We would like to extend a huge thank-you to McDonald Fire for inviting our members to participate and for providing this excellent training opportunity.

TRAINING OPPORTUNITY!!!!

Brookfield Fire in conjunction with the Ohio Fire Academy will be hosting the Live Fire Training trailer November 14th and November 15th 2026.
Any Departments interested in attending please scan the QR code that will take you to the Jotform signup page. Registration will end on 11-1-2026 or when 50 total students sign up. We hope to see you here for 8 hours of live burn hands on training. There is no cost to attend.

At approximately 3:40 a.m., the Brookfield Fire Department, along with mutual-aid departments and Brookfield Police, was dispatched to Wood Street for a reported barn fire.
Upon arrival, responding crews found a 20-by-30-foot barn fully involved ,with the structure partially collapsed.
Firefighters immediately deployed hose lines and began fire suppression operations. Crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire and successfully contain the incident to the building of origin, preventing the fire from spreading to surrounding property.
Assisting the Brookfield Fire Department were Hubbard Eagle Joint Fire District, Vienna Fire Department, and Burghill Vernon Fire Department, along with the Brookfield Police Department.
The Brookfield Fire Department would like to thank all of the mutual-aid departments and personnel who responded and assisted with the incident.
There were no reported injuries to firefighters or civilians.

What an exciting and historical day for Hartford Township. Over three years ago Trustees approved the purchase of a new fire apparatus to better serve the township and surrounding communities. Today, that purchase became a reality. The new Engine 27 arrived at Firehouse 18 in Brookfield where the final inspection took place upon delivery from All American Fire Equipment. This is a Rosenbauer 2026 tanker/pumper on a International chassis. It holds 2500 gallons of water and carries equipment and personnel. This truck was purchased by Hartford residents utilizing tax monies saved through levies voted on by the people. The truck was spec’d by Captain Steve Smoot of the Brookfield Twp. Division of Fire to meet the needs of not only Hartford Twp., but surrounding communities as well. Hartford Township contracts with Brookfield Township for fire and EMS coverage. Captain Smoot along with fire apparatus mechanics from D&T PM & Repair ( Doug & Tyler Elser) worked diligently and with dedication to design a truck from the ground up to fit as many scenarios as possible for the communities it will serve. Engine 27 will become the first out apparatus for Hartford and will carry a myriad of fire and rescue equipment also purchased brand new by the township to successfully serve all residents. A huge thank you to Captain Smoot, Doug & Tyler Elser for their expertise in planning, the Township Trustees for their diligence in spending taxpayer monies, and to the residents for their support. This is a very special occasion for the joint efforts of both Hartford and Brookfield joining together as one to provide for the future safety of lives and properties within both townships. Engine 27 should serve the purpose for many many years to come. Look for more soon after the truck is equipped and placed in service.
