🎶🌳 The music is back in Kiwanis Park! 🌳🎶

Brookfield Parks & Recreation's Friday Night Concert Series returns to the bandshell at Kiwanis Park, 8820 Brookfield Ave., on June 19 with 1980s pop The Jolly Ringwalds! 🎸🎤

🕖 Concert starts at 7 p.m.
🎟️ Free and open to the public

Bring the family, grab your blankets and lawn chairs, and settle in for a night of great music in a beautiful outdoor setting. ☀️🪑🎵

We're thrilled to announce that the Maple South Park Improvement Project is scheduled to begin on Monday, June 22. Maple South Park is located at 3915 Maple Ave.

Nardulli Construction will commence with earthworks and grading, in order to address storm water drainage issues. That phase of the project, during which time nearby residents may experience construction-related noise between the hours of 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., should take one to two weeks.

Earthworks will be followed by installation of new playground equipment, new signage, tables and trash receptacles. The project also includes installing paved access into the park from the public sidewalk.

The completion of the second phase of work is weather dependent but should be completed by mid-July.

Join our kid-friendly Bucket Golf Tour!

Come join our kid friendly golf tour using "Bucket Golf".

Our staff will design creative layouts featuring unique hazards, challenges, and styles of play — so no two weeks are ever the same! Ice-cold Gatorade and "golfer approved" sunglasses will be provided each session to help everyone stay cool and hydrated.

Kids ages 8-12 will build coordination, sportsmanship, and problem-solving skills while enjoying friendly competition and outdoor fun.

The tour meets Wednesdays from July 8 through Aug. 5 at 5 p.m. at Ehlert Park.

The Splash Pad at Ehlert Park, which had been temporarily closed due to an equipment failure caused by a suspected lightning strike, has been repaired and is now open for the kids to cool off on those hot summer days, which are here to stay.

The Splash Pad is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Ehlert Park's main parking lot is located at Elm and Congress Park Avenues.

🎬🍿 Thank you to everyone who joined us for Movie in the Park on May 30!

About 150 people came out to Kiwanis Park for a fantastic evening filled with fun activities 🎨, popcorn 🍿 and a screening of Zootopia 2 🦊🐰 at the bandshell. It was great to see so many families, friends and neighbors enjoying a beautiful night together under the stars ✨🌙.

We had a blast, and we hope you did too! 😄

Due to a recent power surge from a suspected lightning strike, the control panel at the Ehlert Park splash pad sustained damage and the splash pad will unfortunately not be open this weekend.

Staff are currently working with contractors to assess the damage and complete repairs as quickly as possible. We understand this is disappointing with the warm weather approaching, and we appreciate the community’s patience and understanding while repairs are underway.

We will provide an update as soon as additional information and a reopening timeline become available.
