The Town of Brookfield, business leaders, and the development team behind Overland Crossing, 101 Laurel Hill Rd., gathered on Thursday, April 30 to celebrate the official Grand Opening for the community’s newest luxury residential development.

Dave’s Hot Chicken Bringing the Heat to Brookfield with Grand Opening on May 8, 2026: Rackson Cayenne, a leading multi-brand restaurant franchisee, today announced the opening of a new Dave’s Hot Chicken location in Brookfield. The restaurant, located at 128 Federal Road, will open to the public on Friday, May 8, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. and will operate daily from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
The Brookfield restaurant has created local employment opportunities across management and guest service roles and is excited to service guests with this amazing brand. Heather Artman started working with clay as a hobby and it became a calling. In 2015, she signed up for a pottery class just to fill time after a draining day job, but the quiet focus of the wheel offered something deeper. In 2024 she took a side job teaching adult pottery classes and was pleased to discover that she loved sharing her ceramic knowledge with others, just as much as she loved sitting at the wheel. Since then she pieced together a home studio, often relying on secondhand equipment and the generosity of others, turning a small passion project into Cote Clayworks. Now, she’s bringing that vision to a larger community with the opening of her new studio in Brookfield at 887 Federal Road, featuring 13 pottery wheels and space for up to 30 members. Through classes, workshops, memberships, and her own handmade work, she’s creating the same welcoming, supportive, and creative environment that once changed her life.

The ceremonial ribbon cutting will be this Friday, April 17 with the Chamber, town leaders and the Brookfield Economic Development Commission at Heather's new studio. The Open House is on Saturday.
