Courses and Workshops

A free workshop is being offered by our Paint, Draw, More! friends. See below for details and a link to register.

In Puppets in the House!!! students ages 8-14 will learn to make character puppets using materials in their home. We will teach a guided how to workshop and interact with the children (and parents) via zoom. This workshop will cover character creation and brainstorming with the materials on hand to create puppets. We will utilize not only recycled materials but also things around the house that aren’t in use and invent creative ways to transform them. Parents may find this a fun activity to assist their kids in finding junk/ treasures (as well as the idea of spring cleaning those drawers filled with goodies). We will explain to the students what to hunt for in the home then teach designing, cutting, stapling, gluing, sewing, drawing upon, and finishing puppets from imagination to reality. The final class will be an interactive puppet show via the Zoom platform. We will encourage students to invite friends and family to watch the show.
Puppets in the House!!! is made possible by a grant by the COA Artists Respond Grant Program.

Does anyone know the link we use for making reservations for the town beach. Can’t find it on the parks and rec page. We have a season pass but haven’t received info.
Hi everyone! May not be the right page but I’m trying - we found a beautiful black dog on Obtuse Hill in Brookfield. I will post a photo soon, but if anyone has a runaway pup please message me!!!!!!
When is the beach opening?
With baseball in full swing, would it be possible to please have the infield cleaned up a bit ? There are large clumps of grass growing on the infield that make it difficult to field the ball. Thank you
Has Kid’s Kingdom reopened?
When is the Greenway going to open?
I was on the Lake Road yesterday passing by Cadigan Park and the town beach. There's a "Stop Ahead" sign southbound but no stop signs where they ought to be in either direction (there are empty sign posts), nor was the light blinking. Is this to be expected? Seemed kinda dangerous.
Is there a decision yet about day camp this summer?
We did it! Found all 20 and had a great time exploring our town! Thank you, Brookfield Parks & Rec!
Closing the town parks??? HUH? Hope I heard this wrong. What an unhealthy thing to do for people trying to stay home/away from others yet stay healthy! A walk alone in the park (or with your dog) is the only way to do that.
Looking for clarification on Rec Basketball. Is there practice this week for Girls grades 2 and 3 and Girls grades 4 and 5?
Are you doing the letters to Santa this year?
