At the last Board of Education meeting, Dr. Covino presented, and the Board unanimously adopted a Strategic Plan recommendation that will focus and guide District priorities for the next five years. One of the top priorities identified during the planning process, was the creation of an Educational Foundation to unify the community and support District wide initiatives. A Foundation would not replace our school PTO , but rather would provide a new layer of support through the coordination and planning of large scale, community wide celebrations, fundraising, activities and competitions. We are looking to add two positions to our Executive Board that will serve both as D102 Foundation Board members but also as liaisons between the District Foundation and our Board.
If you are interested in becoming one of the inaugural members of the D102 Foundation, please contact [email protected]. Dr. Covino would like to meet with all prospective Foundation Board members early in the fall to help organize the official creation and launch of a Foundation.
