It was cold… it was rainy, and the weekends to be able to go Holiday shopping were getting fewer and fewer. That did not stop our community from making this toy drive the biggest one we have had yet!
We are blown away with the support we received this year for our 5th annual stuff a cruiser toy drive.
On Monday, December 16th we delivered over 2,000 toys to Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital. When we arrived, we were greeted by their staff with hugs of appreciation and hot chocolate! Our partnership with them has grown into much more, it’s a true friendship.
Even thought the focus was on us Monday, the credit needs to be given to all of you! We love the way our community comes together every year and supports this event.
To give you an idea how large this even has grown in just five quick years:
-2015, we filled four cruisers
-2016, we filled six cruisers
-2017, we filled our Mobil Operations Unit.
-2018, we filled our Mobil Operations Unit, car seat trailer, and one cruiser.
-2019, we filled a 24’ UPS box truck, double stacked from front to back!
This was all made possible through the generosity of our community and the business within, that always support us.
We need to thank:
- KICKS 105.5 , 5 year partner. Thank you for playing todays top country music to keep the energy levels up!
-Candlewood Coffee, 5 year partner. Thank you for warning everyone up with you amazing coffee!
-Chick-fil-A, 5 year partner. What can we say about Chick-fil-A that hasn’t already been said by our entire community...You guys are amazing and thank you for doing all you do for Brookfield. Shout out to the owner Devon- We love you!
-The managers at BJ's Wholesale Club for providing candy canes and cookies at the last minute, so we could give them to the children who came and dropped a toy off.
-Danbury Properties, Inc. and Kohl's for allowing us to use their parking lot.
-UPS, for donating a box truck and manpower to deliver the toys! They have already told us next year they will be donating a tractor trailer!!#challangeaccepted
-Durkin Awning and Shade Systems and 189 Sports Cafe (Market Place Tavern) for providing us with the much needed tent!
-A special thank you to the Brookfield Vol. Fire Dept. Candlewood Company Inc.,from setup to break down, these firefighters are out there helping us. We could not do it without you!
Thank you again to our amazing community who all came together to make this event bigger than ever. See you all next year!
....and If you’re still reading this, 😂, please enjoy all holidays responsibly!
Well done boys and congratulations. You needed this and you went out and took it. Your win today has lifted your community and you’ve made everyone proud!!
“Newtown just won the state championship on this last second play. On the 7 year anniversary of Sandy Hook. Amazing https://t.co/jqVRlgqh5H”
We have been keeping an eye on the weather forecasted for Saturday. As promised, our toy drive will be a RAIN, SNOW, or SHINE event.
A HUGE thank you to 189 Sports Cafe (Market Place) and Durkin Awning, who partnered up to provide us with a tent for event!
Coffee will be provided by Candlewood Coffee, food by Chick-fil-A, and music from KICKS 105.5
