TODAY’S FOCUS: Life jackets only work when you wear them!

Time on the water should be fun—but safety always comes first. Just like seatbelts in the car, life jackets are designed to protect your child when they’re worn properly.

Here are a few tips to make sure your child’s life jacket is safe and fits correctly:

🛟 Look for a Coast Guard-approved label — it’s typically found on the inside lining.

🛟 Check the fit — choose a life jacket with a crotch strap and make sure it fits snugly.

🛟 Practice ahead of time — let your child get comfortable wearing their life jacket before you’re near the water.

🛟 Stay close and supervise — a life jacket is an important safety tool, but it never replaces close, active supervision.

Life jackets save lives when they’re worn correctly. Make water safety a habit every time!
