* Until 745 PM CDT.

* At 442 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain within and near Brookhaven. Between 1 and 2 inches of
rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1.5 to 2.5 inches
in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are
possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected
to begin shortly, particularly in urban areas.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

Here's the latest concerning the potential for severe storms later this afternoon and evening.

Good afternoon, isolated severe storms are expected to develop in the marginal risk area today. Please keep this in mind if you are planning outdoor activities, especially those that may be far removed from safe shelter such as boating and hiking.⚠️

At this time we are waiting to see if we are declared for a federal disaster, if declared they will open centers that those impacted by the tornado can visit and register for assistance. Right now if you have not registered with Red Cross you can contact them at 1-800-733-2767.
