Great turnout today for the Touch A Truck event held at our building on Station Road. Families within the community were able to stop by and check out a number of emergency vehicles from our department, Bellport Fire Department, Hagerman Fire Department and the Suffolk County Police Department 🚒🚓🚑 Thank you to the South Country Library and Brookhaven Free Library for organizing the event for the community!

This morning, our department gathered in Brookhaven and Bellport to honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Their courage and selflessness helped secure the freedoms we enjoy each and every day.

Despite the rainy weather, it was inspiring to see such a strong turnout from our community at both parades. We will always remember and honor the sacrifices made by those who gave their lives defending our nation. Today, our thoughts and prayers remain with our fallen heroes and their families.

Great job to Brookhaven Fire Department and VFW Post 8300 for organizing the parades and ceremonies today.

Despite the wet weather today we went to town on our annual truck wash & BBQ to prep the trucks for tomorrow’s Memorial Day parade (weather permitting). Always a fun time with everybody and we were glad to have a strong turnout to get it all done. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and we’ll see the community out on the route in the morning 🇺🇸

This morning, our department had the honor of attending the America 250 event at Bellport High School commemorating the 250th anniversary of our nation’s founding. We were proud to participate alongside the Suffolk County Police Department, Bellport Fire Department, Brookhaven Fire Department, and the United States Army.

The event was also attended by Legislator Dominick Thorne and Brookhaven Town Supervisor Dan Panico, who both spoke about the history of our country and the importance of continuing the momentum and spirit of patriotism within our communities.

We were grateful for the opportunity to attend and proud to see an event of this significance held within our district.

Today begins National EMS Week themed “Improving Outcomes Together.”

It’s a time to recognize where emergency care begins and recognize the men and women who perform life saving care every day.

We are proud of our membership and the incredible job they perform day and night to keep our community protected. Thank you for all you do!

In a tradition started years ago by Chief Miglino, South Country Ambulance proudly hangs American flags along the Memorial Day parade route of South Country Road in Brookhaven from Beaver Dam Road up to the memorial at Gillespie Path. Shortly thereafter Brookhaven Fire Department joined in and took the rest of South Country Road up to Old Stump Road and Montauk Highway.
Over the last few years we have come together in these efforts so these beautiful flags can continuously be seen from Memorial Day through Labor Day every year. Please enjoy the view as you take a stroll through Brookhaven Hamlet 🇺🇸
