Today we congratulate, and also say farewell to a true asset to our station. BM1 Rachel LaFevre advanced to BMC Rachel LaFevre this morning, concluding her 4-year tour at Chetco. BMC LaFevre played a vital role in all aspects of a well functioning unit, whether the task was training, administration, maintenance, operations; law enforcement, and of course search and rescue. Once again, congratulations Chief! Your crew already misses you.

Last Saturday around 0730 the station received a call from the 27’ F/V Spike, who were having transmission issues. F/V Spike was 5 miles off of Crescent city, CA. Station Chetco River was able to respond, towing them safely into Crescent City harbor. Great work crew!

Another major event that took place yesterday morning; Station Chetco River’s Officer in Charge, Senior Chief Petty Officer Ryan Widdows advanced to Master Chief Petty Officer. The rank of Master Chief is an E-9, the highest rank enlisted personnel can achieve. Well done Master Chief!! 👏🏼
