Exciting news from AMS Track & Field Coach Karissa from the Oregon Middle School Meet of Champions this past Friday:

Bruins have another state champ on our hands! Tyler Camp won the 100m Hurdles with an amazing time and Personal record of 14.05 seconds. He also took third in the 200m Hurdles.

Leila Newman took 10th on the 800 with a season-best time of 2:28.47 and finished in the 1500 with a time of 5:77.17

Max Petrie took 10th in the Pole vault with a vault of 7'6"

Beckham Katavich competed in the 200m Hurdles and ran a time of 33.56

“I'm really proud of these kids, and I can't wait to see where the future takes them.”

Reminder: Tomorrow is the 6th grade information night from 5:30 - 6:30 pm. (For families of current 5th graders).

Azalea Middle School invites all incoming 6th grade students and their families to attend an Information Night on Wednesday, May 13 at 5:30 p.m. in the Azalea Middle School cafeteria.

This event is designed to help students and families transition smoothly into middle school. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet staff, explore the campus, and learn important details about the bell schedule and daily routines. Families can also connect with WEB (Where Everybody Belongs) student leaders, who play a key role in supporting incoming 6th graders.

In addition to helpful information and tours, guests can enter raffles and get a feel for the school community.

Azalea Middle School is proud to host the Far West League District Track & Field Championships for teams across our region today! Competitors and families will be arriving from Coffenberry (Myrtle Creek), Driftwood (Port Orford), Coquille, Gold Beach, Marshfield (Coos Bay), Mrytle Point, Harbor Lights (Bandon), Reedsport, Siuslaw (Florence), Sutherlin, and Waldport! Field events start today at 2:30 p.m. and running events start at 4:30 p.m., all at Elmer Bankus Field/SOCOMI Sports Complex. Meet information is available here:

Attention 8th Grade Families -You're Invited!

Event: Incoming 9th Grade Information Night
Date: Wednesday, May 6th
Time: 6 pm
Location: Brookings-Harbor High School Auditorium

Attend with your student to get a first look at what to expect at BHHS!

There will be a club and athletics fair starting at 5:30 pm in the high school Commons and Library areas, so incoming students and their families can connect early with BHHS activities! This will be followed by a presentation in the auditorium at 6 p.m. that shares academic expectations and other important information about attending high school.
