Brookings Adult Education and Literacy

Brookings Adult Education and Literacy Providing basic education to individuals in need of their GED, ESL, wanting to enroll in college, or job attainment/retention.

We offer GED prep, NCRC testing, basic skills brush-up for job attainment and retention, basic computer skills and keyboarding. We also provide ESL classes to those in need of acquiring English skills.

Are you or someone you know homeless or at risk of homelessness (eviction or late rent)?

I am so excited to announce that we finally have a physical access point in Brookings, SD to complete the coordinated entry assessment with individual's who are homeless or at risk of homelessness and it is at our office 619 5th Ave Ste 4B. We are extremely proud to be able to offer this service and are anxious to see how it benefits our community.

What is the Coordinated Entry System (CES)? The CES is a state-wide data base that gets families connected to housing programs in their area. Some housing programs even require a CES referral! This system will also helps us track homelessness in Brookings County and give us concrete data to help spread awareness and come up with community solutions.

If you want to complete the assessment over the phone, call the 1-800 number and leave a voicemail, an assessor will contact you within 48 hours and complete a 30-45 minute assessment over the phone. If you are more comfortable doing it in person, please come see me and I would love to help you complete this assessment and connect you with other resources in town :)
