Today we’re celebrating our four-legged family members who bring us unconditional love, endless laughs, and plenty of slobbery kisses! ❤️

Whether they’re working hard as a police K9, keeping watch over the house, going for their favorite walk, or simply being our best friend, dogs truly make our lives better.

🎒📚 BACK TO SCHOOL SAFETY TIPS! 🚸

The new school year is here! The Brookings Police Department reminds everyone to slow down, stay alert, and help keep our students safe. 💙

🚗 Drivers:
• Slow down in school zones and obey posted speed limits.
• Stop for school buses when the red lights are flashing.
• Watch carefully for children crossing streets and entering/exiting vehicles.
• Avoid distractions—put the phone down and keep your eyes on the road.
• Be patient in school drop-off and pick-up areas.

🚌 Students & Parents:
• Use designated crosswalks and look both ways before crossing.
• Walk on sidewalks whenever possible.
• Stay alert and avoid distractions while walking or biking.
• Wear a helmet when riding a bicycle or scooter.
• Make sure children know their bus stop and safe route to and from school.

🏫 Let’s all do our part to make this school year a safe one!
