Teens took the lead this week at ! Students got hands-on with forensic science, critical thinking, and real FBI operations — all while learning how to stay safe and lead with confidence.

Over two action-packed days, motivated high schoolers stepped inside the world of the FBI to understand how we protect our communities and why our mission matters. They learned about national security, cyber and violent crime investigations, and met experts from our critical response groups, including crisis negotiators, WMD specialists, SWAT, and the Evidence Response Team.

Led by FBI special agents, intelligence analysts, and professional staff, the Teen Academy strengthens leadership, sparks curiosity, and inspires the next generation of public servants right here in Minneapolis.

Karan Gupta of California has been sentenced to 36 months in federal prison for conspiracy to commit wire fraud, multiple counts of wire fraud, and conspiracy to commit money laundering. Gupta created a no‑show job for a lifelong friend and took roughly 60% of the unearned salary as kickbacks, defrauding Optum, a subsidiary of United Health Group, of more than $950,000. Gupta was found guilty in February following a six-day jury trial in U.S. District Court in Minneapolis.

This week, FBI Minneapolis provided Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT) to deputies from the Fillmore County Sheriff's Office and surrounding law enforcement, fire, and EMS agencies in Harmony, MN. This training equips first responders with skills they need to respond together to active shooter incidents, end the threat, and save lives. Students trained in open rooms at Fillmore Central High School, used "simunition" rounds, real tourniquets, and live role players to ensure the most realistic training experience possible. Thanks to Fillmore County Sheriff John DeGeorge, Fillmore Central High School, and the deputies, officers, and troopers in attendance.
