Featured Attractions:
• Fire truck rides with food donation for CEAP

• Kitchen fire simulator
• Live "Close Before You Doze" fire demonstration

Meet your firefighters, explore emergency vehicles, learn important fire safety tips, and enjoy interactive demonstrations throughout the day.

🚨 Parents/guardians of children using electric bikes/scooters.

Please consider the information within our Quick Reference Guide. Protect their precious brains with a helmet and review do's and don'ts to help prevent additional accidents and deaths from occurring.

Some electric bikes and scooters may require a driver’s license, permit, registration, or license plate depending on their speed and motor size.

Key Minnesota rules:
🛴 Electric scooters: Riders must be at least 12.
🚲 Electric-assist bicycles: Riders must be at least 15.
🏍️ Over 1,500 watts or 30 mph: It may be considered a motorcycle.

Where can they be ridden?
🛣️ Asphalt paths and trails = Yes
⬜ Concrete sidewalks = No

Starting Mon, Aug 17, crews will use small controlled underground charges (~300 ft deep) to construct a new City well near Evergreen Park — a standard, safe well development technique.

Residents should expect:
-Charges roughly hourly, none after 6 PM
-May continue through Wed, Aug 19
-Expect brief noise/vibrations nearby
-Pets & wildlife may react

This work supports a more reliable water supply, expected fully online Dec 2026.

🚓🚒 Two days. Countless hands-on adventures.

Safety Academy gives kids ages 8-10 the chance to learn from local police officers and firefighters while having fun every step of the way. Participants will spray a real fire hose, explore emergency vehicles, practice bike safety, enjoy swimming, and discover important safety skills they can use every day.

August 11-12
8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.

$30 residents | $35 non-residents

Registration includes lunch, snacks, a T-shirt, swimming, bike safety activities, and a graduation ceremony.
Register by August 4 at brooklyncentermn.gov/recreation, call 763-569-3400, or stop by the Community Center.
