Mental health matters every day, and creating supportive communities can make a powerful difference 💚 By talking openly about mental health, checking in on one another, and connecting people to helpful resources, we help remind others that they are not alone. Community support helps build stronger connections, encourages understanding, and creates safe spaces for healing and growth. Together, we can foster a community where everyone feels seen, supported, and valued.

Taking care of your mental health is just as important as taking care of your physical health 💙 When things feel overwhelming, reaching out for support from friends, family, community members, or mental health professionals can make a meaningful difference. Seeking help can provide tools to manage challenges, build confidence, heal, and grow stronger through difficult times. Remember, support is available, and you do not have to go through it alone.

A heartfelt thank you to the The Mac Greeman Foundation and the City of Brooklyn Center for generously donating an AED valued at $1,200 to SEWA-AIFW. This important addition has been greatly anticipated and will play a vital role in helping us provide a safer environment for the many seniors and community members who visit our office each day.

We truly appreciate the Foundation’s dedication to equipping communities with lifesaving safety tools and supporting community wellbeing. Thank you for investing in the health and safety of our community! We encourage our partners Minnesota Board on Aging, Trellis, Juniper to also connect with the Mac Greeman Foundation to promote the accessibility to medical equipment that can save lives!

May is Mental Health Awareness Month! Mental health is an important part of our overall wellbeing and affects how we think, feel, and connect with others every day. Just like physical health, caring for our mental health through self-awareness, support, and healthy habits can help us better manage life’s challenges. Taking time to understand your mental wellbeing and recognizing when you need support is a powerful step toward a healthier future. Together, we can create stronger, more supportive communities where everyone feels seen, connected, and cared for.

Taking steps to explore your mental health will help you learn what you need to support your mental wellbeing. Take action by checking on your mental health with a free, quick, anonymous test at Take a Mental Health Test - Mental Health America (https://screening.mhanational.org/screening-tools/)
