I recently visited One World Project, a Brooklyn-based early childhood center built on cultural understanding and environmental sustainability. I was impressed to learn about their Spanish immersion program and their commitment to workforce development for child care providers.
As Chair of the Subcommittee on Early Childhood Education, I'll keep fighting to sustain and grow centers like this, and to build a universal child care system that serves families and providers together.

Yesterday was a great day out on Knickerbocker Avenue!

My team and our summer interns teamed up with the Bushwick team and their incredible interns to clean catch basins and learn about the important role they play in preventing flooding in our community. Thank you to El Puente and everyone who came out to lend a hand. It was wonderful spending time together making a difference!

On Wednesday, I visited the future NineDot Energy site this morning in District 34, near Bushwick Houses, along the route where the North Brooklyn Pipeline was stopped after years of community advocacy.

That fight was about protecting our communities. What comes next is about investing in them. Clean energy infrastructure like battery storage is essential as we face rising heat, worsening air quality, and increased flooding.

I’m grateful to be working in partnership with colleagues in government and community leaders to make this vision a reality.

At today's Stated Meeting, I was excited to introduce my new bill for better sanitation and cleanup in our city's nightlife districts! For far too long, I've heard from constituents that the end of the week brings with it piles of trash and debris in our streets, polluting our neighborhoods and unfairly punishing residents. With Int. 970, Community Boards in nightlife districts will now be able to refer their streets for greater weekend sanitation to combat this growing issue! I'm excited to partner with my colleagues to work on passing this bill in the coming months.

Last week, I was honored to be joined by so many advocates, educators, parents, and organizers in support of Int. 580's passage, establishing the new Office of Child Care! While passing this legislation is a huge win for ECE, I also know that the work doesn’t stop here. As Chair of the ECE Subcommittee, I won’t stop pushing for a child care system that is both universal and accessible — every kid deserves care, full stop.
