Happy EPA SepticSmart Week! This week, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency brings attention to the importance of caring for and maintaining your septic system. To best protect your septic system, EPA recommends:
💧Shuting off water while brushing your teeth
💧Avoiding showering while the dishwasher or laundry is running
💧Refraining from putting harsh chemicals or too much cleaner down the drain
💧Maintaining and emptying your septic tank regularly

IEC is currently in its second year of monitoring the success of eelgrass planted in the Raritan Bay. The project was anticipated to be completed by Spring of 2026 but is now expanding into a second full year with additional data being collected, including core samples and light sensor data at a second pilot site.
