Many thanks to all of the library friends who took the time to bake or came down to the Farmers' Market to support us. We made over $200 which will go toward funding library programs. Our next market date is scheduled for August 16th. Unfortunately, neither Diane Wimmer nor Kathryn Stellitano will be able to be there. We are looking for 2 or 3 hearty souls to volunteer to set up our tent and table and sell the goodies that are donated. (You are not responsible for baking everything - just pricing and selling.) It is not difficult and is fun. Please see either of us if you would be willing to help out on that day.

Summer vacation is an excellent time to make use of the museum passes available at the library. These passes will get you reduced admission to Mystic Aquarium, Mystic Seaport, Mashantucket Pequot Museum, Connecticut Science Center, Roger Williams Park Zoo and Sturbridge Village. 50% of the price of tickets for a family of four can be a considerable savings, so stop by the library and check them out.

Brooklyn's first Little Free Public Library! This one has books for children and has been placed in front of the Brooklyn Elementary School. Borrow a book to read, leave a book for someone else to read.

A very successful sale. It would have been perfect if the wind had been so strong.

Brooklyn residents now have access to ebooks via the library's website. Just scroll down toward the bottom of the library's homepage and click on OVERDRIVE. There are instructions online or stop by the library and pick up a brochure which explains what to do for Nooks, Kindles, IPads etc.
