The community is invited to celebrate a new State of Michigan historical marker that honors Brooklyn's history! A dedication for the marker is happening Tuesday, June 16, 5:30 p.m. at Village Hall, 121 N. Main St.

The dedication will be attended by local officials and feature remarks from Larry Wagenaar, Executive Director and CEO of the Historical Society of Michigan. The previous marker in the Town Square was destroyed in a semi-truck crash last year.

The new location outside Village Hall offers a safer place to view the marker.

The planters are judged in late June and the top three planters will be announced on the Village's social media platforms. The first-place participant will get their name engraved on a trophy which they can hold for one year.

Sit and stay awhile in Downtown Brooklyn! Rocking chairs have popped up around the Town Square thanks to the Village's Corridor Improvement Authority. They offer a comfortable spot to rest when visiting Brooklyn's downtown businesses.

You've likely noticed new banners along Main Street, which also come from the Corridor Improvement Authority. They were recently installed to welcome passersby to our community, inviting them to explore all that Brooklyn has to offer!
