Over the past 30 years many of our young people who have benefitted from our various programs have now returned to hold positions within our agency such as Case Workers, Instructors, Security Guards and even Beacon Directors. Our youth Steel Orchestra otherwise known as our ambassadors have performed throughout the city for the likes of Mayor Bloomberg, BET ,Good Morning America and our New York

State Governor, just to name a few. One of our Flagship Programs, the Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) which we have contracted with the Department of Youth & Community Development (DYCD) since 1995, has afforded us the opportunity to place and supervise inner city youth in over 40 major corporations in Manhattan as well as other companies in Brooklyn, Queens and the Bronx. We have partnered with several High Schools & Community Colleges to provide year round accredited internship opportunities with our most recent partner being the New Community College at CUNY, the first new community college in over 40 years located in midtown Manhattan, the heart of New York City. Our most recently acquired Community Center located at I.S. 211 in Canarsie will feature our new Financial Literacy Program where we partner with The Street Academy to teach our youth personal financial responsibility and good decision making skills.
