🍁🍁🍁🍂🍂🍂**BROOKLYN LEAF PICKUP 2026**🍃

Starting November 5th, our crew and trucks will be out collecting leaves. Drive with caution as they will be stopping intermittently for the leaf piles. Leaf piles must be curbside to be picked up, same as recycle bins. Do not use bags. Leaves need to be loose. Do not place any branches, trash, rocks, grass, or other foreign materials in the piles. These items could cause damage to our equipment and/or our highway workers. Any foreign materials left in the pile will be left for the homeowner to dispose of. There will only be 'one load' picked up for each house. As always, leaves can be brought to the Transfer Station, free of charge, on the days that they are open.

** As always, Thank You for your cooperation **

FROM THE WINY RADIO NEWSROOM: BREAKING: NEW TOWN ADMINISTRATOR: (BROOKLYN) The Town of Brooklyn has officially approved current Putnam Town Administrator Elaine Sistaire as the next Brooklyn Town Administrator, during a Board of Selectman Meeting on Tuesday evening.

The vote, which passed unanimously, will subsequently result in the transition of Sistaire’s role as Town Administrator, from Putnam to Brooklyn. The transition will take place during the month of November, where Brooklyn First Selectman Joe Bellavance says Sistaire will join the town in her new role on Friday, November 16th.

In a statement, Putnam Mayor Barney Seney expressed his gratitude for Sistaire’s eight years of service to the Putnam community, stating that “the Town of Putnam’s loss, is the Town of Brooklyn’s gain.”

The Town of Putnam will begin preparations for Sistaire’s departure, with more information regarding the position set to be released within the coming weeks.

STATEMENT FROM PUTNAM MAYOR BARNEY SENEY:

It is with mixed emotions that I announce the departure of our Town Administrator, Elaine Sistare, after eight years of dedicated service to the Town of Putnam.

For the past eight years, Elaine has been an important part of our town government and has worked tirelessly on behalf of the residents of Putnam. I have had the privilege of working closely with her, and I have seen firsthand her commitment to our community and to the work of making Putnam a better place.

While we are certainly sorry to see Elaine leave, we are also happy for her as she begins this next chapter in her career.

The Town of Putnam’s loss is the Town of Brooklyn’s gain.

Brooklyn is gaining an experienced municipal administrator who understands the demands of local government and, most importantly, the importance of serving the community.

On behalf of the Town of Putnam, I want to thank Elaine for her eight years of service, dedication, and friendship. We wish her nothing but success and happiness in her new position.

Elaine, thank you for everything you have done for Putnam. You will be missed, and we wish you the very best in Brooklyn.

Barney Seney
Mayor, Town of Putnam
