#ProtectionNotDetention

Join us this Wednesday for a webinar: Reimagining how we welcome migrant children. June 30th, 5pm PST/ 7pm CST / 8pm EST. Register here: https://bit.ly/MigrantChildrenWelcome

The rapid increase of detention facilities for migrant children in our community is a harmful and ineffective response to an issue that has drawn public outrage from across the globe. It is a tragedy and a logistical failure brought on by the federal government’s decision to cling on to harmful Trump-era policies, namely the emergency regulation “Title 42” implemented by the Trump administration through the Center for Disease Control,. The administration's continued reliance on Title 42 has institutionalized family separation by allowing agents at the border to deny legal Asylum claims and separate families. Grassroots organizers have proposed creative and compassionate solutions that truly protect children and don’t rely on keeping them in restrictive settings. We must welcome those who are seeking safety from violence and persecution with care and compassion.

The Cherie Blair Foundation for Women Mentoring Women in Business Programme was born from the belief of the power in mentorship; a realization of the role technology can play in building connections and a view that community is a powerful force for change. This Mentorship Programme is to develop a woman’s professional skills and confidence, help her achieve her business goals, build her wealth, independence and security and empower her to create a better future for herself and her family.

HOW DOES THE PROGRAM WORK?
• Cherie Blair Mentoring Women in Business Programme matches women entrepreneurs from low and middle-income countries with professional mentors of any gender from various countries.

• The women entrepreneurs work one-on-one with a dedicated business Mentor for one year, meeting online for two hours a month to work on personal and business goals.

• Mentees go on to achieve outstanding results, from revising business plans and strategies to launching products, gaining confidence, building skills, improving financial systems, growing networks, and more.

THE BENEFITS OF THE PROGRAMME
The mentees are given access to business knowledge, supporting new skills, confidence, networking, and connecting with other business owners. It enables women entrepreneurs to increase their business revenue and profit, create job opportunities for others and become pioneering leaders in their industry.

HOW TO APPLY
Click on this link http://mmfnigeria.org/cherie-blair/ to fill out a form. You are required to fill in your business name; address; phone number and the industry to which your business belongs. Ensure all information provided is correct.
