Mercy Bakery, HRD Global's best-known program, was founded on the principle that people around the world should have access to the most basic form of sustenance: bread. Our mission: To improve the lives of individuals and families affected by the war in Yemen through a range of sustainable projects, providing tangible results with a positive impact. From New York to Egypt, this journey was about showing up, serving together, and seeing what’s possible when communities unite.

Maeen Ali, Founder and CEO of Mercy Bakery, joined our brothers from NYPD Muslim Officers Society and in Egypt to support families in underserved communities and patients undergoing cancer treatment.

Together, they visited local villages, the Children’s Cancer Hospital of Egypt, and the Yemen Foundation for Cancer Patients where Mercy Bakery continues to provide three meals a day, every day, for patients receiving treatment.

The visit was an opportunity not only to provide support but to meet the families and patients being served, hear their stories, and see where continued partnership can make a difference.

A heartfelt thank you to MOS Society and AALFA Society for standing alongside us, and to every donor and supporter whose generosity makes this work possible.

This is what partnership looks like. This is what community looks like. And Insha'Allah, we’ll continue showing up where we’re needed most.
