***Major Spring Storm Monday***

A powerful spring storm will impact the area beginning early Monday morning and will deliver heavy rainfall and strong gusty winds to the area. Rainfall of greater than one inch will likely cause rises on area rivers and streams and cause some localized flooding.

Gusty winds of 50 mph or greater along the coast and in southern areas will likely hamper power restorations and cause additional power outages. Today the weather will be good which will allow for storm preparations including for power outages and securing outdoor furniture.

CMP trucks on Langhill Hwy. Try to avoid that route for a while to let them work.

Hope you are all well and enjoying some of this beautiful sun (stay bundled though the wind is nippy)! The EMA officers and the town officials are currently compiling a list of residents in Brooks to put on a concerned call list in regards to our current pandemic situation. As people are supposed to be hunkering in for a while and keeping away from each other we don't want people to feel isolated or alone. We are all in this together and we care if they need something, groceries, an errand, just an ear to listen for a moment. If you would like to help with any of this or know someone who should be on the checklist please call the Brooks town office during regular business hours 207-722-3254. You can also email the town office during off hours at [email protected] and someone will get back to you. Thank you Jane!

Our health officer, Coleen Putnam is working closely with EMA office and town clerk to make sure we have the resources we need and updated info. Thanks Coleen!

Remember to keep you distance when out and about and stay home and enjoy some quality family time if you don't have to go out! Stay safe and healthy!
